Israel recognises same-sex child adoptions

Children adopted overseas by same-sex Israeli couples are to be legally recognised and granted child citizenship.

The land mark decision was handed down in response to a petition submitted to the Israeli High Court of Justice in 2002 by the New Family organisation on behalf of a male couple with dual American and Israeli citizenship.
