Hello, all! I am new to these forums, and I have a question that has been bugging me for some time: is it possible to make one's chest sufficiently masculine without having to have surgery?

I am a pretty big guy... my chest is somewhere between a large B and a small C... but I have seen that in some very athletic women who used to have a lot of breast tissue, they are able to make their busts quite small. I figure with the T that I will (eventually) be taking, I should be at an even greater advantage to do that if it's possible.

So is there any possibility of making my chest look like a bioguy's chest without surgery? I know it would be really, really hard work but if it can be done I will definitely do it.

Not likely, biogeek. Breast tissue has a mind of its own. The most you can do is shrink fat. You're still left with breast tissue. T doesn't shrink them much at all either.

The two bummers about being FtM. Can't get the outies to go in, and can't make the innie into an outie without a lot of trouble. The plus is that T gives you everything you need to pass in most cases.

Hey biogeek,

I was wondering about this myself as well. I work out in the gym, and there are ways to train the chest muscles. But as far as I can tell, this does nothing to reduce breast size. I even have the suspicion that the stronger the chest muscles, the more the breast stand out / the less they sag. But I could be wrong about that.

As Dennis, I am afraid there is no "easy" way to get rid of most of the breast tissue without surgery.

The only time I've seen women significantly reduce the size of their breasts is when they were body builders. The reason for this was extra muscle hiding the breast tissue, plus the low fat percentage. So if you ever stop body building they will grow back, and you'll have a ton of sagging skin.

There's really no in between where you can see significant results. If you work out your chest the breasts will become more muscular. They might shrink slightly, but that's just the fat that's been burnt off, so you'll still have a lot of breast tissue and muscle in there.

So yeah, unless you're going for the body builder look surgery is the only option.

Most of female body builders were probably on steroids in order to build so much muscle. Only 8-10% of women actually have enough testosterone in their bodies to build muscles past the point of being tight and toned.

Biogeek, there is a possibility of decreasing visability of the breasts if you couple hormone treatments with sufficient body building workouts. However, it is in my personal opinion that they will never be as flat as a biomales chest. It all depends on what you want for yourself.

I agree with the other posters. The only way that i know of to reduce breast size is to lose fat. Unfortunately spot reduction, or purposely losing weight in certain parts of the body, is not possible, so an overall drop in body fat would be needed. This is the reason many supermodels get breast implants.

Only extreme weight reduction through mucho cardio will reduce
fat enough to reduce breast to not much.

I've seen plenty of long distance runners which were just about flat.

Models are also very flat and they do cardio all the time to keep their weight way
down and believe me, they've got not much breasts. The problem is that they
also don't have much muscles so at most they could look like like tall lanky young
boys.

Yeah but Keira, most of those women have always been flat because they've always worked out, which will suppress estrogen and its effects. Once they've grown, they don't shrink. Best you can do is prevent them from growing in the first place.

I wish there was a way to make my chest look smaller..I'm big in the chest and it sucks that I can't somewhat hide them without getting surgery or maybe a binder but I can't get a binder because my parents would find out then I'd be mostly doomed. I have to get by on tight sports bras but I guess they're better than nothing. If there ever comes a way to shrink chest size without surgery I would like to know what it is too. Sorry, I don't know anything either

I can't get a binder because it's too expensive so my mum's running all around Manchester looking for alternatives when really I should be doing it. I dread stupid bra and croptop sections. The stuff mum's found so far sucks too!  ::)
And she's like: That's OK, you're tiny anyhow. - That's hardly the point.  >:(

One of my friends was over weight, and she had a C...

She worked out... nearly daily, with a personal trainer... who pushed and pushed...  She changed her diet and basicly was well on the path to becoming a female body builder...  she did not take steroids...

After about 7 or 8 months of the intense workouts she was flat... and still is flat... an AA <shes jelous because I have a better bust LoL>

Anyways, with the all the working out, a combonation of cardio, weight lifting, low fat, low carb diet she got to the point where she was looking very manish... and by very, I was more passable than she was <and I was still in the early stages>

this may not work for everyone, but its worth a shot...  This may not work all that well for those who are overly skinny though because there breast may be more breast tissue and less fat to begin with.
