Schadenfreude keeps me happy.

hitler had the same feelings.  but you know what the funny thing is?..that he was more miserable than those he despised >:D

I imagine that what keeps me happy is pretty much the same things that keep other people happy.  Nature, being with friends, doing good work, being healthy, doing the things like photography that I have come to enjoy.  Having coffee on the deck, hanging at the Coast, walking, long intense and very passionate discussions about nothing in particular that sort of stuff works for me.  Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes, snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes, silver white winters that melt into springs is all good too.  I love spring skiing up at Tahoe.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

My gods, Godwin strikes again.

But you're probably right, I must be hitler, or some kind of evil nazi, there is no other possible way someone could have something in common with hitler without being hitler or an evil nazi.

Now that the thread is about hitler, did you know he also probably had a scat fetish? I suppose people who like scat are nazis too.
And people with Parkinson's, they're all nazis too.
A charismatic leader, not a great strategist, Germany had victory in the bag, and he threw it away, pretty pathetic.
Did you know that in the second world war america developed bats with C4 strapped to them to use against the Third Reich? The bats were so effective they actually burned down a building on an american military base and the project was shut down.
I can't imagine how there was not any other possible way for hitler to deal with the impending fuel shortage than to battle a war on two fronts, there had to be a way.

That my being is not confined to this birth only!
That I have completed my transition and now I'm whole.
That I will have infinite chances to try my luck and improve upon myself!

Knowing that life is limited and I will die some day. So every minute is a happy one. Why would I spend them any other way?

Myself. Others can keep you happy for a short while, a very short while, until they're gone.
You always have yourself.
I'm in my own world.

For me just being able to be myself, and enjoying doing the things I like.  Simple things such as doing my weekly grocery shopping, being with friends, and finally being able to be positive about my life, for if we can't be happy, what's the point.

if we feel that  "what has been done , it has been well done , what is being done , it is being well done and what will be done , it will be well done", then there is no reason for being unhappy, no?

I guess that what keeps me enjoying life is thinking about all the good things that have already happened and knowing there is still more to come, and really, just curiosity!  ;)

My pets, people I love. Being able to help people with my skills. Watching the ocean, smelling the forest undergrowth, hearing all the sounds of nature.

A whole lot really. I'm a pretty simple guy. Had an awesome trip to California this fall where I got to see all kinds of new things (and Cindi, that tarantula is still a highlight. But I did think you were joking about them jumping). Every day I walk with my dog in the woods and her enthusiasm for whatever goofy thing it is gets me caught up in it.

Got to use my legal skills to help someone out for free. Her brother keeps going on about it to the point where my girlfriend said "if Rick tells me one more time how wonderful you are, I'm gonna make him date you." That makes me feel good. Not dating Rick, but the fact that I got to make a whole family happy.

My cat giving me the big amber eyes of love (which are probably amber eyes of demanding, but I choose to be in denial).

Hangin out on the lake and not catching fish. Cause that's what I do, not catch fish. I try, it doesn't happen.

Singing with my jazz group where we all are in the groove and it works. Doesn't matter if we're on stage or not, just feeling the group gel.

So yeah, lots of stuff.

For me happiness is having the honor to be working again in the role of a social worker. I love nature and I enjoy being out in it. I love seeing new places and yes I quite agree Lisagurl with that I am not going to live forever.

History claims a suicide. Speculation is that Shakespeare died of syphilis.

Sickness most of the time does not reflect character.

Hi Lisagurl. You are correct, sickness is no respecter of rich, poor, good, bad and indifferent. So that is why when I wake up in the morning I thank Great Spirit for my good health and to be provided for and to show me where I can best serve on this day.

I savor and enjoy everyday of sharing of myself with others as though it might be the last one.
I  refuse to just sit around the bus station waiting for the great Intergalactic Grey Hound buss to arrive.

I might even chose that old leaky canoe over there then I will get to see a whole lot more stuff along my journey.

Hi Chris,
;D I am so happy for you two and it is so nice to hear positive things happening for a change from all the pain, fear, and sadness one hears through the day. A wonderful romance story unfolding right here on this very spot before our very eyes.  ;D

Well nighty night kids, I think I will meander my way on the bed and let all my imaginary critters curl up around me and off we go to dream land. ;D

Do you know how boring it would be without imagination? "hee ,hee, hee."

The little things, but mostly, my imagination and my boyfriend. I can make myself happy, and sad, by simply thinking about what the future holds, or can hold, for us.
