Hello,

I'm 8 weeks post op after having a revision after Vaginoplasty I had 23 years ago.
my revision was mostly bringing down my urethra a bit and removal of some excess erectile tissue around the urethra, the surgeon (Dr Claes, in Belgium) suggested to remove a small bit of skin inside one of the labia majora to make the vulva appear tighter.
recovery was quite painful and the urination tube was draining for me. there was a very small spot beneath the urethra that was healing quite difficult and reopened a bit. But after one month I was feeling my self again and it healed ok.

So after one month I started dialating with the dilator I got from when I had gotten my original vaginoplasty, that worked like a charm. Mind you I never had any problems with dialating. When I used the biggest dilator before it felt tight and somewhat painful in the beginning but that became just fine when I did it regularly.
So today at the 8 week mark post op, I decided to step up and use my biggest dilator (in the shower as I always did before) and guess what...I felt immediately that was going to be impossible to get it in...it hurt and there was no way for me to get in. so I tried till
I saw a tiny amount of blood and I stopped immediately.
And not I noticed that the little spot under my urethra has reopened again a little.
Now I'm sure it will close again, I'm not worried about that, but I am worried however about that dilator not going in anymore. Could it be that I am still swollen after 8 weeks or did something go wrong??
i have a check up in may with my surgeon for my 6 month mark.

What do u think?

I think a phone call to the surgeon is in order. My first thought is to big, to soon but your doctor would know better.

I think you should tell your surgeon what's happening. They might suggest using a smaller dilator or maybe coming in sooner

I see that other members of Susan's have also welcomed you as well.

I'm not a doctor, but it's possible there is still some swelling or scar tissue causing tightness at 8 weeks post-op. Healing can take time, especially after a revision, so this may not be unusual.  You might try starting with a smaller dilator and slowly working your way up again to avoid irritation or reopening the area. Using plenty of lubricant may also help.

Since you noticed a small amount of bleeding and a slight reopening, it's a good idea to keep an eye on it. If it doesn't improve soon or you experience pain, swelling, or signs of infection, you may want to contact your surgeon before your 6-month checkup in May.

Take it slow, listen to your body, and don't hesitate to reach out for advice if you're concerned.

Once you feel comfortable here, it would be appreciated if you add a little bit more about yourself in the other forums and threads.  I would appreciate it very much as, I'm always interested in learning something new about new members

In addition members of Susan's will more than likely will discuss problems or issues that are similar to yours as most have experienced these issues as well.

Thank u for making me feel slightly better, it could indeed be scar tissue tightness.
but I will certainly call my surgeon.
I did start dilating a month ago with a smaller dilator and that was absolutely no problem.

You are more than welcome, although I have never had a revision there were a couple of times where I did not regularly dilate for a long time and when I did resume there was tightness and soreness present and a couple of times a spot of blood.

So take it steady and if the problem persists then call your doctor or surgeon.

There was a computer crash at Susan's and nearly five years worth of data was lost.  I will let Danielle, know about you and your past account and maybe there might be something that can be done
