Trump says there are 'two sexes.' Experts and science say it's not binary.

On the first day of his second administration, President Donald Trump signed an executive order declaring that the United States recognizes "two sexes, male and female" — but according to experts and a significant body of academic research, the definitions he used are oversimplified and inaccurate.

However, Maurine Neiman, a University of Iowa professor who has studied the biology of reproduction for 25 years, said: "While there are some areas of active debate, scientists are in wide agreement that biological sex in humans as well as the rest of life on earth is much more complicated than a simple binary."

Eve Feinberg, professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University, echoed the sentiment. "It's scientifically incorrect," she said of the order in an interview. "And I think it's a disservice to people who don't fall into one of those two sexes."

Michael Ulrich, a professor of health law at Boston University, said Trump's executive order is in all likelihood targeting transgender people. "It's trying to explain away people," he said. "They want to try to present it as this extremely simple issue — as if it's really just one or the other, you're male or you're female."

So many parts of society are broken down into the sex binary that "it's hard to think of all the different, potential implications" of the order, said Ulrich of Boston University. It "certainly allows for really harmful treatment in almost any area," he said.

Trump also says windmills give you cancer, and that you should inject yourself with bleach if you get covid. And that immigrants eat household pets.

The guy is a loon. Grade A "nutter on the bus that you get off at the next stop if they get on."

He's not just eccentric, though. He's dangerous. Because he has been given the keys to the White House. I just heard the latest nonsense he's been spouting about how Ukraine started the war with Russia... when Russia literally invaded that country. Calling Zelenskyy a dictator. Just because... I don't even know. This guy is a crackpot. Wasn't so long ago he was blaming these self same people for interfering with your elections. He is mentally unstable. And is likely to break the world. With a giant sycophant cult supporting him. Because... you don't have to worry about war coming to US soil... until it does.

He is the very definition of "Giving the lunatic the keys to the asylum."

Sephirah, it would be useless to argue with you... because you are correct. I can only hope that our judicial branch will slow him down enough for the country, and our community, to survive until the next election cycle. It will then take years to recover from the lies being spread, and the damage being done.

I hope so too. The people who weren't put there by the current fourth reich, seem to have their heads screwed on. And even the most crackpot right wing tories in the UK couldn't get past the courts when they decided that shipping immigrants off to a country in Africa wracked by genocide and instability was somehow "the right thing to do".

I'm pretty sure this guy thinks the "J" in Donald J. Trump stands for "Jesus". I am more inclined to think it's a word that rhymes with "Woke".
