I have been considering getting my testes removed to prevent myself from literally feeling 'poisined' by testosterone running through my blood.

Anyone have prices?  Do I have to see a special therapist or can I just walk into my main health care doc and tell him?

Think I could get it done in the military, like say my significant other wants me to do it?

Does removal of the testes make a male sexually non-existant or is there still a potential for estrogen-related sex drive?  Is the penis still functional if I were to get into a relationship where I decided I wanted it to be?

I would like to do this too, but you better be sure that it is what you want, because it is, of course, quite irreversible.  Unless you have cancer or something there is just no way that it is not elective surgery.

If you even have questions like the one you asked, I would respectfully suggest that you are not ready to make this decision quite yet.   i wish you the very best of luck!

Are you dreaming? They would not do that unless your life was at stake.

I think I will go for it eventually, within the next two years.  I'm certain that I'm either an androgyne or a transsexual or a mixup of both.
I can't get away with being on hormones in the military, but I'm pretty certain I could go for orchiectomy even if I pay for it on my own and not even have it noticed.  It will get this testosterone out of my body without busting my for using steroids or something(as hormones would) and it would suit my goals for either path I choose.

Some, not all can still get it "up", but it is not as full. Getting a rise is a mental thing. You can even have sort of an orgasm, nothing like a current one though and to get there takes A LOT of work from what I have heard. If you do not "exercise it", it will shrink, which could effect things later possibly.

No, they will not pay for it unless it is required.

The military does physicals. I know they did one on me at the 2 year mark and when I got out. The old turn your head and cough is going to be pretty obvious you are missing something. These physicals range from lung capacity to hearing and everything in between. This could also fall under the whole injury to self clause, and possibly get you into trouble. There is a good chance it will effect your strength and body weight unless you take drastic measures. Most who do this, end up wanting some sort of hormones or they feel terrible and they make it easier to stay in shape.

Why could you not take hormones in the military?  And why would you think you could get away with having no testicles without anyone noticing?  Have they done away with physicals now?

That reminds me, overseas and probably on a ship, you may have community showers.
There is no way you will go the entire time with no one seeing you naked.

If I remember right, prices are $2k overseas to $6k here (I think).

I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure you need either T or E... if you have no T
then you need to be on HRT and taking E.

I surfed the net for you and found this site, which was very informative
and describes the effects of castration:
http://www.geocities.com/sherrylanina/Castration.html
As far as I know there are very few surgeons doing orchidectomy
"on demand". You ned referral letter just like for the SRS.
On the other hand being hypogonadal for a longer period of time (i assume
you won't be able to take HRT) is not such an advisable thing. Body needs
sex hormones to function normaly. And since you are going to be in military
you will need much more energy, strenght etc. than usual and with orchiectomy
it will happen the opposite...
Have you considered cheimcal castration (anti-androtens like Androcur or
Aldactone)?
Talk with your doctor about the effects and take everything into account
before you decide on it
She is no longer trapped by destiny
And ever since she let go of the past
She found her life was beginning
