So, I've got my initial consultation on 03 March. I'm really quite excited as been in a quandary about doing this for some time. I think one of the things which helped me decide was the gradual recurrence of my male sexual appetite which had gone completely with the GnRH blockers.

The initial consultation was not only the first, but also the last. Because I have had some Atrial Fibrillation episodes (about 7 over the last 10 years), they won't do the Orchidectomy, as too high risk.
So, looks like I will be on Synarel nasal spray for GnRH block, but might look at Decapeptyl injections.

I don't know what options you have available or the costs, but I get an injection of Eligard (leuprolide) every 90 days, and I take a daily tablet of Casodex (bicalutamide). The injection blocks T production at the source. Some estrogen gets converted to T in the body, so the Casodex blocks the androgen receptors, making any converted T have no effect. The two medications combined are, in essence, a form of "chemical castration". I have had good results with this combination.

I hope your doctors can find something equally effective for you that will not interfere with other meds or conditions you are having.

I should have mentioned that I've been on feminising meds since January 2019. I started with just 5mg finasteride which was pretty much useless. In June 2019 I started with Estradiol tablets and at some point moved onto Synarel with a lower dose of Finasteride. Unfortunately after about 6 months with Synarel there was then about 18 months supply problem. So, I tried a few other options but had some reactions. When the supply problem ended I started up on Synarel again. And in February this year changed from the Estradiol tablets to patches, which is also an increase in the amount of Estradiol.
In January this year my Serum Testosterone was less than 0.05nmol/L and Serum Oestradiol 322pmol/L, so all pretty reasonable

The main reason for wanting the orchidectomy was the slight increase in my libido and also I wanted something more complete, rather than meds based. But, looks like it's going to be meds . . . . c'est la vie.
