Convertible = removable top?  ;D

I hope that you bring enough so that you can relax and enjoy yourself. Then, when you get home, realize how much you didn't need. It is better to have it with you and not need it than vice versa.

Do not forget that you can get laundry service on cruises, albeit at high prices.  On select days, a discount may be offered for laundry service.  So if you are fretting over squeezing in the last one or two outfits, you may wish to use laundry service.  For a short cruise you would not need as much clothing of course and may not need to wash your clothing.

Some people also save up and bring some clean "worn out" under clothing that you would not want to donate and simply discard them after wearing during the cruise, freeing up space for the return trip.  That may sound ridiculous but it is a tip shared among cruise travelers.

As always, try to bring the basics, with multiple outfits that could be selected by using different combinations of items.

Have fun.  Lots of fun.

Chrissy

That is a very good idea, useful for other kinds of travel as well.  Perhaps useful tips like this could be added to your travel topic, Chrissy?

Emma, I echo Chrissy's wishes:

Have fun.  Lots of fun.

I've done a lot of traveling and deep woods backpacking.  I am a travel minimalist but packing as a female for a cruise is another experience entirely.  There are two formal nights so I intend to shop for dresses in London.

This is a one-in-a-lifetime Cinderella experience.

They have daily LGBTQ socials so I am hoping to meet some great people.

I am travelling from England to the US, so we get 5 days with 25 hour days...an extra hour to sleep in!

Lori, I don't plan on any topless moment on this trip but who knows, I bought the liquor package!

ChrissyRyan

Braless for me I can handle perhaps, topless no.
I mean I cannot be topless as people would obviously notice the upstairs.
Come to think of it, I likely should use pasties if I go braless.

Do enjoy your trip.  So you fly to England then cruise back to NYC?

Formal dresses and wedding gowns too can look spectacular if fitted nicely.
I hope you get to enjoy that formal experience CinderEmma!

Hugs,

Chrissy

Skip the glass slippers. You won't need them.

I fly to London tomorrow and embark on the Queen Mary 2 on Saturday in Southampton.  I arrive in Brooklyn NY next Saturday. I could walk home from there because I live in Brooklyn.

The cool thing is by traveling west I get an extra hour a day every day.

I have guy clothes if I chicken out going full female.  I hope I don't and I don't think I will. I so desperately just want to be "me" for days finally.

Am I afraid? Absolutely, but I have to breathe.

I love you guys. Thank you for always being there for me!❤️

Lori Dee

Have a lot of fun.

And as Danielle warns us:

"Pictures, or it didn't happen."

We will be eagerly waiting to hear all about the adventure of CinderEmma!

Emma,

That is so true. I wish I would have thought of that when I took my transatlantic cruise in January. I sailed east from Miami and almost every night we lost an hour of sleep.

Enjoy your trip

I thought that was you Davina!

Chrissy I love true British fish and chips. The ship has a pub the has an excellent reputation for fish and chips. I think they fish off the ship to make sure it's fresh!

I had a day shopping with Emily that exceeded my expectation.  We found
The perfect black dress and we even had it tailored in one day.

A whole day as me!

I will wrote more later...yes with photos!

Well CinderEmma is back...and the trip exceeded my expectations.

I loved being back in England, even if it was only two days.  My family was from the north and settled in the Cotswold area before moving to New York in the 1890's, so every time I go back it feels like home.

I promised photos so here is Emma, the classic American tourist in London:

I was very lucky.  It was a beautiful day and I walked everywhere.  After Emily and I bought the dress, she found a local tailor to hem it the same day.  We had to wait two hours, so Emily knew a rooftop cafeteria atop a department store on Oxford Street. We sat there for two hours, drinking prosecco and chatting like old girlfriends.

It was so special to be Emma for the whole day and not just for an hour or two.

That set the stage for my Queen Mary 2 cruise.  Cunard runs an LGBTQ social every day at one of the upper deck bars.  I went the first day and met some fantastic new people. I went there every day of the cruise as Emma.

One of the new people I met was a transgender American woman, Josie, who had been living in Sweden for the last eleven years with her boyfriend. She was travelling back to America to see family. We hit it off right away.

Although the majority of the social group was gay men, there was a mix of a few lesbians as well.  We formed a group of about eight of us that became dinner and dance buddies almost every evening.  Two of the lesbians adopted Josie and I, which took away all of my social anxiety.  I was among friends.

They gave me the courage to go to the two formals as me.  I had brought men's clothes just in case I chickened out but, as you can see below, I didn't:

The entire trip was the Cinderella fantasy I had hoped for and dreamed of since I was a child.  It exceeded all of my expectations and quelled every fear I had.

I am ok being home and being back with my wife.  It is all part of my life. But I will always have the special memories of this once in a lifetime trip that will always make me smile when I think of it.

It truly was special.

Lori Dee

Oh, Emma!

I am so happy it turned out to be everything and more than you hoped for. You look great! Love the formal dress, too. Very classy.

It is great adventures like this that reaffirm us and our confidence to just be ourselves.

This post made my heart smile!

Thanks for sharing.
