Hey everyone! My name is Osric. I used to be a member a long time ago, and have since created a new account. I am here because I recently left a lot of social media platforms, and have been missing the community that came with them. I remembered Susan's place, and how it made me feel less alone when I first came out years ago as a trans man. These days I am definitely more nonbinary, but still consider myself a transmasculine individual. I am so happy to be here, and to see that Susan's Place is still going and active. I look forward to feeling less alone, and helping others to do the same!

Thank you for that wonderful introduction. If you are interested in trying to revive your old account, our Forum Administrator can try to help with that. A year or so ago, the site experienced a crash. Many accounts and data were lost. The staff has been able to recover some accounts. In some cases, members preferred to keep the new account but had their old posts moved to the new account, which helped overcome the 15-post restrictions. If these options interest you, send Danielle (Northern Star Girl) an email and she can take it from there.

As you know, we strive to make this a safe place to find information and share your thoughts and comments. No matter who you are, you are always welcome at Susan's Place.

Please keep in mind when posting that this is an ALL-AGES PUBLIC Forum and the internet never forgets. Do not post anything that you do not want to be made public.

I will add some links here that are important for returning members. Some of our policies have changed, so take a few moments to read through them. Pay special attention to the links in RED. When you reach 15 posts, you will be able to send and reply to private messages and add an avatar to your profile.

It's great to have you here again.  Susan's Place has always been a wonderful community and I'm glad it provided you with support when you first came out.  It's completely understandable to step away from social media, but it's great that you found your way back to a space that feels familiar and welcoming.  Myself I'm not involved in social media at all, as I like my privacy.

Hi Sarah! Thank you so much for the kind welcome. They have! It has been so wonderful hearing from everyone and I think I am getting better at navigating the forum lol!

It is so wonderful being back. Susan's Place kinda saved my life. The support I received back then really helped me feel so seen, supported, and heard. Even though I have only been back for a short time, I am feeling that same support now. It has been so refreshing. I am so glad to have made my way back. I certainly understand not engaging in social media for the extra privacy. I found it to be a nice space to share with others at first, but so much has changed and honestly I think leaving social media has been the best choice for keeping my mental health together.

I am looking forward to sharing my experiences, as well as hearing from other members. So I am definitely looking forward to being more active on here.

I am so happy to be back, and I am already feeling the connection and support I was hoping to find. Thank you so much for the welcome, I look forward to spending more time here!

Hi Osric and welcome,

Social media can surely be mixed blessing, not least in terms of the time it soaks up, but it's been getting significantly less relaxing lately. Susan's meanwhile, doesn't appear to have changed, so you'll likely be able to pick up more or less where you left off, allowing for the membership shifting with time. We're all trying to navigate the same ocean, regardless of whether we're headed east or west, so have a friendly hug!
