Davina I should used this trip as an opportunity to scout a safe UK haven.  I visited the town they all lived in called Nailsworth.  There wasn't any family left but there wasn't any lingering family debt either.

Quote from: Emma1017 on March 15, 2025, 03:03:45 PMWell CinderEmma is back...and the trip exceeded my expectations.

I loved being back in England, even if it was only two days.  My family was from the north and settled in the Cotswold area before moving to New York in the 1890's, so every time I go back it feels like home.

I promised photos so here is Emma, the classic American tourist in London:

I was very lucky.  It was a beautiful day and I walked everywhere.  After Emily and I bought the dress, she found a local tailor to hem it the same day.  We had to wait two hours, so Emily knew a rooftop cafeteria atop a department store on Oxford Street. We sat there for two hours, drinking prosecco and chatting like old girlfriends.

It was so special to be Emma for the whole day and not just for an hour or two.

That set the stage for my Queen Mary 2 cruise.  Cunard runs an LGBTQ social every day at one of the upper deck bars.  I went the first day and met some fantastic new people. I went there every day of the cruise as Emma.

One of the new people I met was a transgender American woman, Josie, who had been living in Sweden for the last eleven years with her boyfriend. She was travelling back to America to see family. We hit it off right away.

Although the majority of the social group was gay men, there was a mix of a few lesbians as well.  We formed a group of about eight of us that became dinner and dance buddies almost every evening.  Two of the lesbians adopted Josie and I, which took away all of my social anxiety.  I was among friends.

They gave me the courage to go to the two formals as me.  I had brought men's clothes just in case I chickened out but, as you can see below, I didn't:

The entire trip was the Cinderella fantasy I had hoped for and dreamed of since I was a child.  It exceeded all of my expectations and quelled every fear I had.

I am ok being home and being back with my wife.  It is all part of my life. But I will always have the special memories of this once in a lifetime trip that will always make me smile when I think of it.

It truly was special.

Emma!

Well done sister!... You look radiant!!! 💕🤗💕

Smashing.  Simply smashing! You need not worry.  You are very well put together.  The dress is lovely, as are you.

Emma,

You are nice looking for sure.  It is so nice you were able to take this trip and enjoy your time.

Thanks Chrissy.

I finally got to my Cinderella Ball after an entire lifetime of dreaming and wishing. I went to the ball as pretty as I could be, in a lovely gown, and danced late into the night.

The experience surpassed all of my expectations.

Parties never last forever.

I ended the Cinderella cruise without sadness. I had realized my lifelong dream. Not many have the opportunity to do so and I truly recognize my good fortune.

Regardless of the future, the memory of this trip will always be a joyous part of my life's journey. I happily move on with the knowledge, that regardless of the currently sad political climate for the transgender community, the world is filled with warm and caring people.

ChrissyRyan

Emma,

Maybe you can take the next long experience trip with your wife.

Happy spring!

That would be great but I don't think she will ever accept the female "me" in person.  That's a lot to ask. Also, I still need to be "male" professionally.

I hope everyone has a great weekend...don't watch the news ::)

Did you leave a glass slipper?

Emma, you are utterly radiant. You know I already think that. But every time I see you in your element... you are breathtaking. It's one thing to have a smile that can stop traffic, but when that smile lights up your whole face, it can literally stop the world.

You are genuinely beautiful. <3

Girl, you know I think you're stunning. <3 More so when you're allowed to be. I would go to the ball with you any day. :) Although that would be more Beauty and the Beast than Cinderella. I don't care. You are beautiful.

Sephirah you are the only person who can actually make me blush.  I wish I saw myself as you see me.  It is not surprising that we are our own worst critics.

That is why we have friends to create a balance.

Sephirah is right, I didnt want to make you blush---------

One day you will, Emma. Trust me. Until then... I'm totally going to keep making you blush. Because it's adorable, lol. <3 That and I love you. You are my dear friend. It's my job. :)

Sephirah you leave me with nothing to say, which is unusual for me...

Thank you for the extraordinary compliment!

I am teaching my second day at the LGBTQ school and no politics just teenage angst and energy.  I drank two cups of coffee in preparation.

Maybe I should volunteer in a LGBTQ senior residence instead. 😁
