Need some help Please.....

I've been looking at Bra types that close in the front and I was wondering if a Front Closure Bra might provide a better lift or even create some clevage better than a back closure bra.

Appreciate any opinions or experience...

Thanks ......

like with so much else in these things.  A front catch bra will fit each as bad, good or hopelessly as good or bad as any other type of closure, just depends on who you are what you feel like when you fasten it up etc etc.

Thank You Terri, I guess part of the fun is trying both and seeing which is better. Appreciate the reply and hope you have a day filled with peace.

Hello Katie_Dee.

As Terri mentioned the best way is to try before you buy (best option).  Bra fit everyone differently and shape them just as differently.  For example a bra may fit me quite well but on another person the straps may keep falling off the shoulder.  I have tried both and to be honest I've found the most success with a Vogue Petite Bar #4030.  It's a back closure but it really enhances my bust line.  I'm very happy with it, so much so that I've brought four others.

I'm afraid it is really hit and miss but the best way is to try them on before you buy them (this assumes that you are "Out" of course :)

I actually went to Macy's and had one of their fine bra experts fit me for a bra.  I just told the clerk that I was buying one for my girlfriend and told her she has the same chest size as I have.  It worked out really well and I did not have to come out of the closet to get what I wanted.  Cup size is actually a measurement from the bottom center edge of the cup to the center tip of the cup itself.  If it measures 1 inch, its a size A cup, if it measures 2 inches it a size B cup, if it measures 3 inches its a size C cup, etc.  I find either type of closure will work depending on the bra's design and how it fits your body, but the best way to see is to try them on.  Hope this helps!

And you really don't think the clerk knew?
Nameless here for evermore!;  Merely this, and nothing more;
Tis the wind and nothing more!;  Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore!!"

I don't think she really did.  She deals with lots of men asking these kind of questions when they are buying bras for their wives.  She was very professional about the whole thing and was happy to make a sale.  She was very accomondating and told me if I ever have anymore questions to come back and see her anytime.

My guess is that the clerk knew because she probably gets that kind of request often.  She was just being professional and went along with your story because it made her some money.

Shannon, she knew. :0)  I use to work in a store that sold apparel and intimates. There and still is a lady or two who use to go to stores on a one day bra fitting. I knew the girls who worked in intimates and they told me that they could spot a trans person a mile away. They would never say a word, it is unethical. Don't let this scare you, by all means do what you have been doing as it works for you.
On the subject, I have found so far the front closure works best for me. For one thing its not as hard to clip as my shoulder sometimes goes out of whack and will hurt for days. Then there is the feeling that it pushes everything forward. I thing that is my imagination, but I'm going for it and it is my story. It makes me feel better. So don't tell me any different. LOL

Well, then she must have known then.  She didn't act like she knew I was buying for myself.  I remember asking her all kinds of dumb questions on how my girlfriend should adjust the straps, what style bra would fit her best, what enhancers could be used with a bra to provide more clevelage, what fabrics are the most confortable, what styles should my girlfriend avoid, etc.  Afterwards it made me feel much more confident in knowing what size and style to look for when buying bras at Victoria's Secret and Fredricks of Hollywood.   I can look back on this experience and have a good laugh over it now.   :D

wanna bet john wayne.. .........I will say that most sales people are on to us these days and most really dont care.....I doo remember thimss when i would shop in drab for femme clothes and get tha question that is not for you is it?... and would almost have the clerk faint. Some of the clerks would giive the total insult and address you as sir when you are in drag.... OH ....back to the thread .... the front i find that it is more convenient... it is less comfortable.... and i find my forms want to slide out......

Another way to do it is to go to Kohl's, put severla bras in your bag, then go try them on yourself

I like bras that fasten in the front because they stay on my shoulders better. On the other hand there is no room for adjustment. They only have one closure position. The ones that fasten in the back have 3 or 4 positions for closure that allows some adjusting over time. But I agree that there is no avoiding try-ons.

From a guy's point of view, the front closers drive me nuts. I can get a back closer off with a quick hand swipe. The front closers require some fumbling that is highly undignified.

I have both.
I like both.
Front closures are a little more sexier and in my opinion fit better, but that is also not the case as many do fit as well or better that are back closure.
It depends on the bra, and what my mood is. ;)

I agree with Sarah. I found that front close more often than not fits much better than back close. It also looks sexier when I am taking it off... ;)
