Lilis, the worst is when you are stuck in the subway car with homeless people who are unwashed.  You can tell which car is bad as the train enters the station; if it is empty, run to the next car. Ugh!

I sold the formal kitten heels I wore for the Queen Mary 2 galas because I have limited storage space and, honestly, when will I ever be able be "me" at another formal event? 

It broke my heart but, I got more than I paid for them on the trade-in as a credit, so that means...new shoes!

Sephirah, I wish...but I am happy that I even had that one Cinderella experience. It was so special.

I am teaching today and giving a test right now to the students. Not the most popular thing to do to teenagers on a Friday.  I am covering for the science teacher, seven periods of tests, seven periods of grumpy students.  I am reminding them that they are off next week.

Most of these LGBTQ students are not shy expressing themselves but at least they are polite. I really enjoy the interaction with them. 

I took my photo down as my avatar earlier this year because I felt concerned about Trump's election and its impact on privacy, particularly if you are transgender.  I didn't want my personal photo in the public domain.

Now, I don't care.  I will not hide, and I won't let the SOB's win.

Beautifully said, Emma! I spoke Thursday with my therapist on this topic. She's with the VA so talking is about all the VA provides anymore relative to 'new' queers. The word 'genocide' was tossed about between us. Not as a talking point, but as an accepted fact. I'm so happy you're being loud and proud.
