How did you acquire your gender conforming wardrobe?

What did you get first?

Did you shop with someone?

Do you still have some of your first fashion items?

I stole them! (Just kidding)

Online shopping. Except for one dress that I spotted and just had to have. It was WAY too small, but it is too cute to part with.

I still have my first bra and first nightgown. I don't wear them anymore because over the years, the lace has disintegrated. Now I have them more for sentimental reasons. I keep saying I will throw them out. But I can't. Not yet. It's too soon. 

The first time I bought a woman's dress was at Wal-mart. A woman customer said, "It will look good on you." I replied, "I hope my wife likes it, too." Never shopped at Wal-mart again, not for women's clothing, anyway. My daughter helped me pick out the last two dresses I've purchased. She has a much more refined sense of fashion than I do.

I bought a black racerback bra from a nearby Target store.

First I would go through self checkout at Walmart then I would order things off of Amazon but now I don't worry about it and just go to stores.

I had been known to pick out stuff and go the register in the old days.  There are many other ways that work.  Over time I have used: used clothing stores, yard sales, ebay, amazon, Walmart, Target, Fred Meyers.  I often just go in and buy what looks close and take it home to try.  What others say or think rarely has impact. 

If there is a secret, it is just carrying on like all is regular and normal.

Butt... This was when I was 19-20. The first outfit I bought wasn't... It just looked like it was girls. I actually thought I couldn't buy clothes in the women's department. I found a pair of shorts that looked like girls shorts in the boys department and a tank top that matched and bikini underwear. I wanted to look like the girls did. I would wear it and go driving around. But I wouldn't wear it in front anybody that I knew.

I found a blouse I just had to have.  Unfortunately I knew it would not be quite the right size.
So far, I have not found one exactly the same that fits great.  It has some vertical darts to make it more feminine form fitting.  It sort of fits; but not well, so I would only wear it loosely underneath a sweater that I did not plan to take off.  I rarely wear it.  It is pretty though.  Sigh.

Silly things we do, huh?

I can relate to almost always wanting to look like other women. 

Now I can; but, no hourglass figure.  More on top now.  That is wonderful.
