Do you use "Public Transportation" for local travel?

By this I mean bus, subway, monorail, light rail, and ferries?

Do you think they are safe?  I wonder about their safety.

If they are safe and clean I can see some advantages of using them.

But weirdos push people in front of subways, set people on fire, stab and rob people, and they are often packed.

Then again, they can be a speedy way to get from Point A to Point B.  Maybe they are fairly priced.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

I would use them if we had them.  But I live just outside a small rural town.  There's no public transit to speak of.  There is one bus line that runs the length of the valley.  So you could bus from one town to the next.  It is basically a substitute for the train, which no longer runs.  They tore up the tracks years ago.

If the train still ran and they had decent, frequent bus service connecting neighbourhoods in the towns to the train, people wouldn't need private cars.

I wouldn't worry about my safety on our feeble little bus service.  I don't think that antisocial tendencies are a product of public transit.  The biggest risk here would be a traffic accident.  Drivers are idiots.  Even if the bus driver is competent, the other idiots on the road aren't.

I use them it's free for me between 0930 to 2300 on weekdays and all day on weekends and public holidays.  One of the advantages of  being an OAP. Only use the  bus and tram as I still have to pay  on the train. It's fairly  safe and  reasonably  clean where I  am
