I've been visiting the forum for years.This time I've stuck around.I wish I knew 30 years ago what I know now. In my teens I desperately wanted to transition. Buried myself in drink and work, late 20s the same. I wish I had transitioned and lived a truer life.

From what the research tells us, the majority of binary trans people have had this thought and quite a lot of non-binary people too. I've definitely had it, tempered by a growing awareness over the years that there doesn't seem to be a well defined gender for me. For me, the magic wand was accepting that I could be happy being me as long as I got off my own case and accepted I was me.

That took quite a bit of doing 🙂

If we take all the years most of us do to come to terms with trans, imagine how long it takes an outsider when they don't have to live with all the feelings we do?

I can understand why cis people struggle. That's not to say I condone it when their struggle manifests as portraying themselves, the majority, as the victims of a minority such as ourselves. That, I have no tolerance for any more than I do for racism or homophobia.

It certainly did take a while!  The contentment came from me though.  But I add that it wouldn't have been possible with out the LGBTQ movements!  At least that brought our minority into the mainstream....kinda.

Hi, yep, for sure.
Had that wand existed, it would have been lovely.
At the time I loved the manga-anime series "Ranma 1/2", as he/She could change gender just by getting in touch with water. I just loved it and wished it was possible.

This end result would be a pleasant dream but no magic word for this is in my vocabulary.
