Watch Wes Work

"if we plot progress versus time it should be pretty much linear.  We are currently right about here  approaching the danger zone between `works` and `done` and those two things are not the same. We have to be very careful not to get sidetracked at The Works boundary and end up over here on the Asymptote of Despair where time goes to infinity and we never quite finish our project"

I will look up "how to fix this or that" or "how to do this" for a particular subject.
I do not seek out specific named channels.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

We don't watch broadcast television, instead we're subscribed to a multitude of YT channels. We watch a lot of maker videos, DIY, homesteading, etc.

I do not watch that much of anything as compared to maybe twenty years ago.
Sometimes I will watch golf or documentaries or key sports events or help to fix this stuff, or about nature or history or travel and other miscellaneous stuff.  Star Trek in many of its many varieties are hard to keep up with by itself.

I much rather experience things in person.

But it was cool to see how things operate via a video, such as how those big cruise ships are run.  They are like moving hotels with captive residents, so they always have to make a lot of meals vs. hotel occupants going down the street for a meal.

Like Chrissy, I mostly use YouTube to learn how to do things, like auto repair or jewelry-making.

While stuck in a hotel room due to heavy rain in Colorado last week, I got re-addicted to the History channel. Since I don't watch television, since I got home, I have been watching episodes on YT.

I have been trying to teach myself how to make wire-wrap jewelry. YT has a ton of videos for that. But far beyond just wrapping polished stones, there is one artist who just amazes me with her work. She makes all kinds of things from wire and beads. I am studying her miniature high-heeled shoes. They can be used for a dollhouse or as a necklace pendant. I have failed three times so far, but not giving up. Her channel is full of wonderful creations. And she does not sell them, she collects them.  ;D

Nice, Lori!

I did a lot of wire wrapping back in the day....but not that kind. First I'd assemble a card, then add the wiring.

That brings back memories. Back when I did that, it was mostly discrete components. IC chips were the new technology.  ;D

Acute Hypernerdism compels me to watch a lot of gaming channels, lol. Mostly games I'm playing myself, to see how other people approach them. I find it relaxing. I am similar to you, Dev, in that I haven't watched "normal" TV for a long, long time, and kind of just watch longform let's plays of videogames. I say watch, they're more like just background noise but they're comforting. I doubt most of the stuff I watch would interest most folks here. I like smaller channels. :)

I do like the multi hour "Stuff to fall asleep to" videos, too. Things like "Blizzard sounds for sleeping" from a channel called "Stardust Vibes - Relaxing Sounds". They're like ten hours long and I've kind of come to rely on them. I am one of those people who can't sleep in silence. I think it goes back to my time in the military. Where you never slept in silence. And trying to now... it's too... loud? So these videos are very nice to drift off to. I am kind of weird in that I love the cold, and storms, and all the stuff a lot of people don't, lol. Howling wind is massively soporific.

Get your mind out of the gutter, Lauren... >_<

That's really kind of cool. Where I live there are a lot of farms. A lot of machinery like that. I never really paid attention to any of it.

Yes, as a Navy lass, seal means something else. I think it means "gasket" here.  ;D
