It is amazing that there is concern in the USA or UK for harm to or not allowing us to live simply as who we are, civil transgender people.

I bought some summer clothes from Primark yesterday. I wanted to try them on so went to the fitting rooms. There was one area labelled 'Women' and the other area was labelled 'All Genders.'

I picked up my garment security thingy from the female attendant and went into the Women's section twice. I wouldn't have considered doing anything else.

No one said a thing. I'm looking femme at the moment though anyway I guess.

I'm not really paying much attention to the so-called 'News' tbf. I'm just getting on with living my female life in the UK and right now I can't say I've encountered anything hostile.

I accept that this may change and 'there may be trouble ahead' (Nat King Cole) on a political and legal level which might filter down into people's attitudes. But I think the majority of the UK population have other things to worry about.

I feel that the real trouble in the UK could come c. 4 years from now which is the latest date for the next General Election. Reform are leading in all the national opinion polls.

As a result, the Labour Gov't have lurched to the Right on many issues: pandering to that wing of the electorate. So either way, on a national level the outlook isn't particularly encouraging.

For those outside of the UK who aren't aware, Reform are led by Donald Trump's friend Nigel Farage, who helped instigate Britain's exit from the European Union.

Good morning from the UK where I do sense things are deteriorating somewhat. @Tanya may well prove correct in her warnings.

I spent the day out and about y'day and I didn't have time to apply makeup particularly carefully, plus on a hot day it wore off as the afternoon progressed. This is partly because I have to wear sunblock underneath for my ongoing laser hair removal.

Anyhow, without makeup I am identified as female by about 80% of people, maybe more, and just leave others looking puzzled. I'd say that those 20% who wish to cause trouble would then misgender me.

It's not so much that which happened y'day but I'm trying to give context. It's more that I detect hostility and murmurings in, for example, the ladies loos. I never encountered that before the TERFs got going with their campaign and stirred the toxic pot. Where before most people either didn't think about it, or didn't care, we have now become a toxic topic.

Hatred and hostility are on the increase in the UK.

Hi all, I'm a bit late to this thread as ido not come here as often as I used to.

I had been mentioning all this for a long time now and warned this was the way things were going. The leaders of the party in power are anti trans. The leader of the EHRC is a known TERF, GERM as we call them now with evidence of secret meetings between her and Sex Matters  to promote anti trans policies as soon as the SC announced what they knew was going to be the result of the courts finding due to the submissions they were allowed to make to the SC and no counter submissions allowed. It was all a stitch up.

Of course all this could so easily be avoided if the government just changed the law giving supremacy to the GRA that it was always intended.

I'm ok I still go about as always using the ladies and any other spaces for my gender. My sphere of (cis) female friends is expanding as I meet my new neighbours but I pass 100% and go stealth. Due to moving I have missed a lot of prides but will be at the London trans pride where we will turn out in thousands to protest will not go down without a fight.
