My facial hair is decreasing!

foshofosho

I still gotta shave every day, but when it is shave-your-faise time, the stubble is much much less prominent. I can't really see it anymore, just feel it, but I still have to shave because I shave in the evenings and the next day I will have visible facial hair.

Basically, the growth of my facial hair has regressed to what it was one year ago.

C": I'm not crazy surprised. I mean, I was told by like, 3 people that it might get effected because I'm so young. But still, it is a very lovely thing to happen.

What have you noticed in the last month or two of your HRT, or just in your transition in general?

Awesome Gracie, THAT is exciting  :)

I've noticed my body hair grows much slower the last month or so. Facial hair has been
un-affected :(  And my skin is getting so soft and smooth.

BTW... your avatar photo is so cute :)

I'm still waiting on my arm hair to thin out :"[ It is major yuck!

And thank you! I need a new recent picture though. I've had a haircut since then.

I get that too, where like you can't really necessarily see the hair but like you can feel it and it's annoying.

Hi Claire,

"Haircut ?" ...  :o ... why would you want to do that ...  ??? ... ?

You sure look pretty in that avatar pic, you're so lucky to be starting out so young and with features like that !

Arm hair should become really fine on HRT, you'll find the hair that sprouted latest is the first to go, but even so you need need to give it a year.  I'm 4 years on HRT an my hair is still getting finer, although its only really noticable on my legs now .... I never needed to gey my chest and abdomen lasered !

What you might notice really quickly on Spiro is that if you had greasy skin & hair / and were acne prone, that problem goes away within weeks.

Congratulations,

I wish the same happened with me, but I guess I should have started earlier   :(

Lol, I didn't cut it all off. I layered and fringed it.

Ah. I'm not on spiro. My doctor only has me on estrogen. He said spiro is bad, cuz it doesnt stop testosterone from being created, it only holds it back and it would be better/healthier if i just took estrogen which will just sizzle out testosterone receptors instead of just supress them.

But yeah, my acne has flared up from the estrogen :"[

Ya, my endo is pretty much the same way, and the acne doesn't stick around for too too long from my experience.
thank goodness D":

im getting the same thing. ive been on hrt for about 5 months and week now and when my facial hair comes in its like light and really not noticeable. ive been shaving a little still but i think im gonna stop and just let it go and see what it does, im pretty confident that its gonna come in light enough to where i wnt have to shave at all. ;)

I really hope that will happen to me soon Laura, I've been on just estrogen (no anti-androgens) since the end of last November. Prior to that I shaved my arms on one occasion only and since then the hair on my forearms has grown back with a vengeance! I'm tempted to use Veet or shave then again but maybe I'll just wait and see.

As regards facial hair, my beard growth has become very light coloured (I used to have dark beard although I'm naturally blonde - now nearly white), but still grows very quickly. As it's not dark coloured any more I can get away with missing out shaving for a day, but if I do I have very rough stubble to endure. I can't have electro or laser for medical reasons and recently got a nice Braun epilator which is fine for body hair but (shrieks) is like using a lawn scarifier on my face. However, it is so very satisfying to see the clumps of down-like hair which it yanks out of my face by the roots! Our very own Cindybc has recommended I use Vaniqa which is a product that helps to reduce facial hair growth in natal females, so I am going to give that a try (I believe it requires a prescription in some countries).
