Not sure what topic this would be under. I had recently had my ears pierced a few weeks ago. I took the new earrings a few day ago as my ears was a bit sore. I noticed it seems I can't see the holes. Took me an hour or so just hunting the spot of the piercings. Ouch. Now I got starter earrings in there. They're small so they won't hurt as I sleep. I'll swap them out when I want to wear my pride earrings. Well it was my first time dealing with earrings issue like this lol.

That's a common problem.  They do say to leave the starter studs in for a few weeks.

I had one hole close up on me and had to get it re-pierced. I had the original piercings done with a piercing gun at a hair salon, but I don't recommend that.  For the re-piercing, I went to a tattoo and piercing studio.  The guy looked as scary as the premises, but he was scrupulous about cleanliness, even changing gloves between ears and did a good job.

I still have trouble sometimes finding the holes.  To minimize that (and to minimize my own dysphoria) I keep earrings in at all times except when I sleep.  Around the house, I usually just wear small silver ball studs.  It makes a difference which earrings I wear, for getting them in.  The post sizes are different.  Getting a pair with fat posts in is difficult.  But once I have them in, changing to a pair with smaller posts is easy, because the holes are stretched out.

Hinoiri thanks for this which is a great question.

Are they okay now?

There are lots of videos and guidelines online about first earrings. Your starter studs should stay in for a good while: I left mine in for 6 months! Although some people say to clean with cotton buds you need to be careful with those. I used a little atomiser spray with a proper proprietary cleaner three times a day front and back of the lobe. Rotate the stud and gentle move it back and forth with the spray on it.

If they're sore then it likely means an infection, which is very common. If you had to take them out then leave the scar to heal then you can go again. This happened to me with one of my ears.

I always leave my standard earrings in 24/7. It's a bit harder with hoops but some people leave those in day and night too.

Good luck and keep it up. Earrings are great!
