I've recently considered looking more queer to the public, but I changed my mind when I realized I'd rather be masculine. This is what feels right for myself and that's how I'd like to live. Still, I noticed that I'm no longer able to pretend to be just a man. I'm nonbinary.

I'm actually planning on changing my documents to nonbinary in order to make it match with who I am. I know the whole process in my country is hard, but I'd like to try anyway. Even if it's just so other people can be happy as well.

Declaring non-binary on your documents is a two-edged sword. On the one hand, it means that no matter how you present (masculine, feminine, or anything in between), your documents will match.

On the other hand, many people do not understand what NB means, which could expose you to discrimination or harassment. I applaud your bravery in moving forward and claiming your identity as your own. That takes strength, and I hope it all works out well for you.

My first psychologist told me, "It should never be difficult just to be yourself."
