I was just wondering is there any other Red Neck Girls out there?  My wife and I was talking the other night and she thinks that my dressing and wanting to transition is nothing but a game; I asked her why she thought that and it is because I am very much a Red Neck.  I love hunting, fishing, NASCAR, Jeep off-Roading, Trucks, but at the same time I am very girly when I dress.  I tried to explain to her that seeing how I was born and raised in the Deep South (Alabama & Mississippi) that the girls down there also like to do the same things and looking very Lady Like when out on the town, you know the Southern Belles.  I've always wanted to be Scarlet O'Hara, the prim and proper Southern Belle but when needed a Hell Cat.

My wife just thinks that I'm playing a game, so when ever I try to talk to her about transitioning she is not taking me serous.  If I bring up Breast Augmentation and HRT she laughs, but when we go out shopping we are always in the Lady's Department and we get things for both of us, very seldom do we go to the men's department only if I need something for work.

Work is another thing she uses to say that I'm playing a game.  I am a retired Naval Chief Petty Officer and current a government contractor, I have taken positions in Iraq and Afghanistan, and I will be returning to Iraq next month.  She is saying that if I was a T-girl I would not want to go to these areas and there is the fact that the military is hostile Transgender and Homosexuals.  Well I'm not wearing a ball gown in the desert, I do wear my work clothes, but the she says, "well you also wear you bra and panties" and I tell her of course what else would I wear? 

So I sure that y'all can see my situation, I am very serious about HRT & SRS, but at the same time I love my job plus there's the money, we both like that.

Did you played any of 18 Wheels of Steel series?
or Hard Truck series ... also I played all Tomb Rider series can't wait on the new one 'Tomb Rider - Legend' ... I still play also online game  'Lineage2' in female role.
I played all Quake, Unreal and Doom games ... also all SimCity and Sims series ... All Need for Speed series ... and many others.
... lol ... as I see I got way too much free time, but because of that I don't feel nothing less TS as the one who had never played the pc games. Also If I can choose than I play a female role in the game.

One way to put allay your wife's possible fears or concerns is to get yourself into therapy and see if you really are GID.  As you probably know, dressing, while being "Girly" does not make you a transsexual, and getting a correct diagnosis will go along way in helping with your situation.

I do not see anything unusual about the things you do.  You have spent a large part of your life playing the male role that was expected of you, playing that role sets a pattern in all of our life's that I do not believe changes over night.

I still play with my cars, and still enjoy working in my shops, still go out shooting (my spouse often goes along to shoot as well), that does not have any part of my being female, it is something I grew up doing, and I still like doing.  The big difference or change I see in my life is I have added in a lot of other things I would not have done before, such as reading magazines such as Good Housekeeping or Vogue, reading cook books, or working in the kitchen because I want to. I say hang in there and be yourself!

Good luck with your wife' attitude;  as was pointed out before, for many people it is better for their overall physical and mental health to get into therapy as soon as they can, to insure that any changes are controlled and well thought out.  One small mistake at this point in your life can cause a lifetime of grief if it is handled incorrectly.
