It's certainly possible, though since everyone is different, there are no real universal symptoms to look for... except for, perhaps, do you wish you had been born a boy?

I know it can be kinda hard coming out. (I am one to talk I havent even come out to my fam yet.)  I always wish I was born a boy. I dress , act and look like a boy. I love it.  I hate wearing a bra though.  I dont have big boobs though so I can pass as a guy with normal shirts but I have never worn girl clothes and I all my imaginary friends were all hot women who were my girlfriends. My friends and I would play house I would always be the husband.  I sexual fantasies have always been with woman never a man even in my dreams.  I love woman but I hate when people call me a lesbian because I think of myself as a man.  hope this helps ;D

I have been keeping it from my family my entire life, and I just told my friends about 2 years ago, but keep in mind that I just told them I like girls, I havent told them I want to transition....

Jade,

I have worked for over 9 yrs in the trans community with individuals and families, and am post transition of over 15 yrs myself.  I knew I was a boy from the time I could talk, problem was I was not allowed to talk.  The body is not the only deciding factor to what we are, it is at best just fluid. We are all a bit of both sexes to various degree's. How you define yourself, is what you will find deep from within yourself.  The problem with getting there is getting rid of the messages that society, and so called people in authority have instilled on "you". You meaning all of us.  When you seek deep within you, stay true to what you find, not to what others want to tell you. Peace comes from inside.

You have come to a great site, and there is a lot of support here for you! Hang in there and just remember, you owe it to yourself to have the right for your own life, your own identity and your dignity!

Peace,

Taylor

Taylor,

I just wanted to say that what you said to Jade on this subjest was very cool. Being younger dealing with it is pretty hard. I know too. I had started trangressing 17 years ago, only to do a 360 back and had 4 kids married a man, and now am full circle again. I have to do it now. The hardest part for me is dealing with my kids. So far my 12 year old daughter, Madison understands if you can believe that, and says she loves me for who I am on the inside. She is obviously well beyond her years. My older daughter, Mariah who is 15 is having a harder time. The other two would not understand now so why bother right now. I too always felt like a boy, and you do just follow what society tells you to. I have already lived legally as a man for 5 years before, was on hormones for a year. Now I have to start over again 17 years later. everyday I am called sir and mam, all depends. The determining factor for many is my chest. It is not huge, but big enough to be noticed. I can't wait for the day they are gone.

Hi Marco,

I am glad you have found your way back to yourself bro.  Thanks for sharing it with the younger guys. I could never imagine the hardship you have had to face with all these years trying to please others. I sucked so bad at pleasing others it was never a option  :o

Peace,

Taylor

thank you taylor for the input as for
marco congrats i fear doing the same
i think the only reason i doubt being the way i am is because of what other people would think of me if i go through with it besides that fact that i always wanted a family but im suppose to be "dad" not "mom"

Jaded, I know that for me, recent times have been difficult, trying to determine weather or not I am transsexual. I have had long hair scince I was about 15. I always thought it was because I was a rocker. I guess not. hehe... I past years I have been mistaken for a woman many times and it never really bothered me. Now when I am mistaken, I'm exstatic! I'm so happy that it happens, except when I'm with my mom (who gets mad and tells me I need to get my hair cut). I haven't told my parents that I belive that I am a transexual yet. Coming out, I'm sure is one of the toughest things that we can do in our lives. I actually have an appointment with a therapist in my area so that I can be diagnosed and sort out my feelings. I think that it would be benifical for you to do the same.

I believe that csw stands for Certified Social Worker.  This is the type of therapist I am seeing now.
