A lot of Transsexuals, I'm not qualified to speak about others in the TG umbrella, appear to have this deep dislike of anyone who may have done well for herself, particularly for herself, as they mostly ignore the accomplishments of the men.
It smacks, a lot of times of jealousy and at other times of the same general opinion expressed by one of the posters that TSes should be seen, not heard, and always disappear into the gender fabric so as not to make anyone else feel 'uncomfortable,' or, in the case of other TSes, 'so they don't queer it for me.'
The basis is fear, perhaps, self-loathing and a good deal of envy, imo.
What can I say, Jan looks very good. I've spoken with her as well and she doesn't sound a twit or a moron nor think like one in the least. More power to her and I am hoping she does get a large settlement for employment discrimination. Good for her.
She in absolutely no way at all detracts from or makes me less valid. She and I live different lives. There's no difference at all in saying 'she's giving us a bad name' than there is in saying that Willie Horton gave all black-folk a bad name. Or that Christan Soriano gives all gay-males a bad name or image.
Those people gave themselves a bad name and that is absolutely where it stops.
The poster, Elwood, seemed to be saying about what I just did. I think the point is "why should transpeople pile on and diss other trans people for living their lives?" So what that mine's not like their's? Mine's not like yours either, but I cannot imagine that either of us would want to live the other's life.
