Is there such a thing? And I'm not talking women with HBS here. I'm talking men or androgynes or any flavor other than female.

Does this exist? Is there a such thing as a male lesbian? Maybe a male or androgyne or any flavor other than female who likes to be treated like a woman by other women?

I don't know if there is or not, but if there is such a thing, I claim dibbs on being first in line.

When my partner and I met, I was still identifying as m2f ts, sie happens to be female bodied and isn't interested in relationships with men. We have been partners for 12 years. I don't call myself a lesbian, mostly because I don't wish to appropriate a word that some might not think belongs to me. But our relationship isn't het, not at all, for either one of us. It sometimes pains me that my body doesn't match the way I feel, and that we're not seen by our friends as another lesbian couple. But that's the way it is for this androgyne. One could say that I'm a tryke, and that's OK too.

ok, i find this rather amusing. i agree with the fact that most natal women are either only attracted to one sex or the other, which means that a person like me would be completely unattractive to a female who was strictly lesbian. now a woman who is bi, but identifies more as a lesbian would be more attracted, but see it as "having the best of both worlds". and in some of these instances reviewed with the love shy men, i do identify with. i know even after surgery, all i would want is another woman, i can only be comforted by another woman, football is a sport played by beasts, i played with the girls much better than i ever did with the guys. also, i have one of those "things"--i don't like it nor do i hate it? i will more than likely have surgery but it's so far off in to the future it's not funny. since i don't like it nor hate it, does this not make me TS? i feel i just have to accept it's there, not to mention my wife does like me to use it sometimes...lol

I know a ftm ts guy who identifies as lesbian and is dating a lesbian woman. He's not terribly interested in preserving prevalent paradigms about gender.

I knew a guy who was absolutely secure as a natal male, and yet was quite feminine in manner and described himself as a lesbian. It was a little bit of a joke, but not entirely: it described the way he approached his romantic relationships. He didn't have much use for the stereotypical ways that straight couples act.

I think there are too many labels in this world. Lesbian, gay, bi, pansexual, omnisexual, queer, trans, straight, old, young, blah blah blah....A person is a person. I don't care who people sleep with, how they do it, or how it makes them feel. People start to feel like they belong to the label and I think it resstricts them from being them. We should all just be

"Label" is just a pejorative label for "word." The problem isn't words (or labels), but the lack of imagination that leads to the erronous belief that there are no meanings between or beyond the semantic spaces spanned by our vocabulary. "'Male lesbian'? Impossible!!!"

Of course, I'll continue to complain about labels, too. :P

I get particularly annoyed with the assumptions and stereotypes that come attached to the labels... an awful lot of useless baggage...  >:(

I find it semi comical that humans are smart enough to ladel things, but many aren't smart enough to see past the label.

As I posted elsewhere yesterday.

I really like your analogy of labels belonging on cans, not people.

I'm imagining a world without labels on cans... One would start to prepare dinner, go to the cupboard, reach for a few unlabeled cans, and the next thing you know, there is pasta with pineapple clam sauce for dinner, cream of mushroom/cling peach soup for the first course. Ick! I hate to think of what we're eating for dessert.

I guess I have to rethink everything. Perhaps abolishing labels isn't such a great idea after all. It could be the end of society as we know it.  :P

I really have to question that assumption. It sounds more like a description of male sexuality. Women's sexuality tends to allow for more fluidity.
Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride
