Here we go again with the bathrooms.

Apparently last September, songwriter Tanya White was kicked out of the Beverly Hills Hotel's women's restroom because she looked too masculine. Oh -- and apparently hotel security called her the anti-transgender pejorative "it" in the process, even though she's a natal woman.

that's just appalling.

i give this news item a 10 out of a possible 5.

I hate to say this, but I've reached the point where nothing about sex or gender 'appalls' me anymore. This crap appears to be normal every-day, run-of-the-mill occurrences and the news item you posted, Z, and especially the comments to it seem anymore like 'normal.'

When the heck did 'bathrooms' become a hot-button socio-politcal issue in USA? Perhaps we should just demand that all public toilets in businesses and those provided by localities simply be closed. Everyone goes at home!! LOL

Thank goodness I'm a Navy Veteran, and mostly wore white sailor hats during my 20-year career, and rarely had to march any where!

I hate the term 'it'.  Saying 'he or she' at least is an attempt at keeping a person, a person. 
A friend of mine was told a story recently by a colleague from her work, who was asked on the weekend to come down to the pub by her brother.  Why?  To have a drink, a chat, a get-together?  No!!
To look at an 'it'!!!
Of course, they had their good look, asked 'it' for a light, then proceeded to tell all and sundry about their weekend encounter.  I am happy to say that all other work colleagues were not impressed by this 'story', and just went on with their work.  Maybe people are becoming more open minded after all.
