I received a great email from my Mom last week.  She will becoming over from England to visit with me and Gill on May 13th & 14th.  I'm soooooooo excited.  I phoned her today and we spoke about many things.  She noted that I seemed so much happier now, and said that she is really looking forward to seeing me as it will give her the chance to get to know her daughter.   Finally after so many years of indifference I'm going to get to know my Mom

Iv'e alway had a great relationship with my mom. But now i'm scared to tell her that her little boy is a girl.
I read about how you were so brave and told your mom and now how she loves you.

Wonderful news, Stephanie! I can relate very closely to your situation; my son (with whom I lost contact for several years, but have now come out to and who is very happy for me and supportive) is planning a visit here at the end of the summer.

It really is amazing how important family becomes to us; in a situation in which it sometimes feels that we have cut ourselves loose from society, their love and support makes all the difference.
