Is there a such thing as a partial transition? Can one take hormones to look like they're in between both genders?

There are no rules as to how far you have to go. The point is to be yourself, whomever that may be. Not everybody fits in a box or can be defined by a standard set of rules. Some transitions could be simple as a hairstyle change and some are the complete assimilation of the other gender including surgery(ies).

Remember you're unique... just like everyone else.

Hormones have the upsides, that they take effect slowly and the degree of the effect can be varied by dosage. Also I belive (I have no experience whatsoever with that), that most changes are reversible up to a certain point if you find that it's maybe not the thing for you.
I was considering that for myself, but as I know insurance helps only if you're diagnosed with a need for full change surgery, and I certainly won't take anything I got from dubious sources without supervision.
Lowering testosterone levels whould be a neat way, but I havn't found anything in regard to that. (There are rumors that soy does that, but there are equally many that say it's an unfounded myth.)

If I had the means and courage, I think I would partially transition.  For me, I'd just like to look more male...but I wouldn't want to take hormones.  A breast reduction (but not full mastectomy...I want to have kids and breast feeding is better, from what I understand), maybe some facial surgery, but not much.  I'd change my name.  It's all up to the individual and what will make you happy.

I don't know what all you would have to do...for hormones, you'd have to have a gender therapist and go through those lines, but if you just wanted plastic surgery, I'm pretty sure there's no one that can stop you...it's your body.

You definitely aren't the only one with those feelings, though.  :)

Things like spiro in low doses do diminish T levels (without eliminating them)
with low risk.  But, you must be carefull because too low a T level without
estrogen cause's bone loss.  In men, estrogen comes from
part of the free T (unbinded to T receptors) being transformed
locally in diverse tissues into Estrogen (bones need the estrogen for their health
even in men).

The problem is that unless you're transexual, doctor's
don't want to prescribe T reducing meds..

Know something more definite about it?

I know a girl who is somewhat of a herb-woman, but I'm not up to talk to her about that yet.

Keep your doc posted of side effects, it might help if they tweak the dosage.

I am undecided about whether I am full-on mtf TS or an androgyne, but I know I'd like to at least go on female hormones and develop breasts, curves, softer skin. I also have a beard, and I'm a bigger guy... There is something strangely appealing about hiding a more feminine shape under my baggy male clothes..

But like I said, I'm undecided... but I'd love to talk to anyone else with the same feelings.
