STOCKTON, Calif. -- A transgender woman was shot and injured by Stockton police after allegedly charging officers with a sword on Sunday, authorities said.

Officers received a report at 7:19 p.m. of a disturbance at an apartment at 828 Dave Brubeck Way.

Police arrived to find 38-year-old Gregory Grooms refusing to come outside and "speaking irrationally," Officer Pete Smith said in a news release.

Taser or stun gun (world of difference)?
Transman or Transwoman? Gender references flip flop back and forth and the name is male.
