Hi, Beyond, just thirty years ago the public wasn't that well informed. Everything that was classified as gender variant were called queer or homosexual, and both those words meant everything under the label of "sick." So yes, there have been great steps forward on educating the general public about the other gender variants, especially those of the trans community. But the correct information is still not all that widely spread so as to be common knowledge. Then you get this negative stuff that again it is sending folks recoiling, scurrying back into their dens of ignorance and hate, in fear of this gender disease, like Tv's, TG's, transexuals, chick with a D:-->.. and all that other stuff. So much is still the stuff of Jerry Springer. And now we have Zucker and Blanchard from the Clarke Institute in Toronto classifying us as autogynephilic.
But in my opinion I can still see where there is a light at the end of the gender identity tunnel, and I don't believe it to be the headlight of an on-coming train.
