Do any of you have experience cycling the Pill (12 weeks on, one week off) to restrict those monthly visits form Aunt Ruby to once every 3 months?  I know there are some, like Seasonique, that are specifically marketed to be taken that way, but apparently it can be done with any single-strength pill.

Anyway, I recently talked to my doctor about that, so she prescribed Orthocyclene for me on that 12-on, 1-off cycle.  She warned that there may be some spotting during the 1st cycle.  Well, I'm 5 weeks in, and I've been spotting and cramping for 10 days straight now.  I'm starting to get very frustrated and cranky.  Worse yet, it's driven me to the cookie dough.  (Did you know you can buy Nestle's cookie dough by the tub-full now?  :P)  Honestly, if I went back to the regular system, it'd be over with in 3 days.  I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth the hassle.

So my question is, what was your experience?  Did you also experience this super-extended low-grade period the first month?  How long did it last?  Do you have to deal with this the first month of every 3-month cycle?

Haven't taken BC since 1990.  Turned out I had trouble getting pg anyhow.  I should only have 1 disgusting cycle left if all goes well.

I hated taking the pill and didn't like its side effects.

i was thinking about taking somehthing like that during the school year if i couldnt get on T by the end of the summer so that i didnt have to deal with that, since i'll likely be using the mens RR.  plus i hate them anyways. :icon_burn:
