In my research into SRS Doctors,  I ran across Dr. Nguyen.  He is located in Lake Oswego, OR.  That is just down the  road from where I live, literately.  But I am having a hard time finding out any more about him, other than his web site.

Has anyone heard of him before?

What hospital does he perform surgery at?

How many surgeries has he performed?

How can I find out more?

If he is any good, he may go to the top of my short list because he is so close to home.

Help. Please.

Call his office? Most docs will schedule a consult to answer those questions

I could find virtually nothing on this surgeon, after Googling and checking my Yahoo GRS groups. He looks to be trained by Toby Meltzer. I started to wonder if he has patients sign a non disclosure agreement before surgery. I agree calling is good, but I was seeking third party opinions.

I'm sure we would all like to find a surgeon that is local to us but that is not always possible. I've never heard of Dr Nguyen but that does not mean he isn't  good surgeon.

I would want to hear good things from people I trusted about a surgeon before I even considered him and would travel as far as I needed. There are many reputable surgeons both in north america and elswhere. You will only be doing this once so choose with care.

Well I think that I may have found my surgeon.  He is local and I can go home after surgery.  Dr. Nguyen has performed over 200 surgeries and he trained under Dr. Meltzer, when he was here in Portland.  He also uses the inversion technique that Meltzer uses. 
And he strictly adhere to the same guidelines and principles of the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association.

Now I have to look at the budget and plan for payment.  And make an appointment with Dr. Nguyen to begin the process.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Nguyen DID NOT train under Meltzer.  Nguyen was a resident @ OHSU and did a plastic surgery rotation while Meltzer was there and that's it.  This is per Meltzers office!!  I also was looking at Nguyen.
