Several contests in the August election, including the supervisor of elections, a county commission primary and an election for a state House seat, include openly gay or lesbian candidates.

"There's a lot of GLBT candidates," said Michael Albetta, president of the Florida Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Democratic Caucus.
