Do bras help with shape and development of breast?
Can they be harmful?
When should a developing woman need to start wearing them? Is nipple development a consideration?
Where do you get odd sized bras like 38A or any alternatives because I don't think there is such a size as 38A?

I don't know if there have been any studies or professional stuff on it, but I believe they do.
When they get big enough to bounce, you need a bra. All tits eventually go south but bras delay the breakdown of the tissue.
We do have some control over our breasts as evidenced from what happens when ftms bind for a long time. In binding, they're pushed down and the results after a while aren't pretty. (from seeing other guys, I never bound long enough to have any effect). So I imagine bras work in a similar fashion to hold them up, prevent too much bouncing, etc.

my dear minion,
you may have heard of a Lil' thing called the internet. you can get almost any damn thing you want. i got a Maidenform 38A size bra, which i ordered online. it's quite good.  (hi Anna!)

Bras do not shape the breasts. However, once your boobs are big enough to have some weight to them, you'll want to wear a bra to help preserve their shape. A bra can only be harmful if it is too tight.

Not at all.

Other places to look would be jms.com for smaller cup sizes on larger chest frames.

For development? No. They do not help nor hurt. For support after they have fully/ becoming fully developed? They help a lot.

i don't think so. i wore one all the time in my teens, even slept in it and my tits are fine.

Actually Sports Bra's can be bad for support if they are not designed well for it and you have larger breasts than B.   Growing up I made the mistake of wearing them to long and ended up drooping and stretch marks, nor was it good for the back.

But as an A you might be ok.  As for looking online, the only problem with that is that bra's come in many shapes, and it is difficult to know if that shape is good for you until you try it.  Even at a store, I've found to many which cut into you, your underarms, your ribs, or don't hold the breasts correctly.  And hopefully unlike me you won't be sensitive to lace, or the rough edges they put on many bras.

I didn't start wearing a bra regularly until 20+ years after SRS. Somewhere around middle age I seemed to have crept up from a nice full-B to a D and many activities are QUITE uncomfortable without support.

Unless its VERY tight, binding tight, there's no problem with wearing
anything unless you wear in 24 hours a day.

Most bras, 80%, provide not that much support
(less than we think) and are there for cosmetic reason
mostly. Shaping.

Actually, if you have small breasts 34 and less band A-B,
no bra probably is better
than a bra cause bras unless they are quite tight won't provide
any support or stop them from jiggling but will
cause the cooper's ligament supporting the
breast to attrophy which makes the breast sag motr.

I have a 38 a/b sports bra I got from hanes I really don't care for it at all. The bra made what little breast feel compacted. I think my breast might be lower set than most women because they seem to fill out the bottom part of the cup good (this is a B cup which is too big) and the top is loose. I was hoping that a bra would help with soreness and keep my nipples showing through my shirts.

Your bra is not lower set Anna, there just not
were you think they are...

Initially, we have much bigger pects than a women,
most women have very very small pects. When our breast grows,
they sit on top of our pects, and its them that fill most of the bra.

Filling a B cup in 6 month is very unusual, even for a teen, let alone us,
yet we hear of this all the time. The reason, the muscle factor.

I know what I'm talking about, I fit in a 38B in 4 months, yet now 2 years
later, I fit in a 34B, but they are much rounder.

Initially also, when growing the breast tissue tends to be conical, which
is the shape of the glandular tissue beneath, as fats deposit around this,
the breast tends to become rounder. Look at early teens at the beach
and you'll see what I mean.

Most early teees don't wear full cup bras for this reason, they wear triangle
bras, with no support on the top side of the breast.

I have had no HRT and I am not overweight.

My size measures out at 40c, but I find that a 38b
gives the best support and comfort. I guess this is the
"pec" effect Keira is referring to...

When I want to look my best, I use supplimentary
chicken fillets under my breasts to improve the
"natural" sitting position of the bra (ie lower).

I need to get a sports bra for when it's too hot to wear a t-shirt to martial arts.

I actually heard that us wearing bras is unnatural and carcinogenic if the bra isn't like... Breathable.


I really want to get my hands on some sports bras soon. I don't need support per se, but I will soon. I went on a ride at the amusement park yesterday. One that rotates cars in a circle that turns on another axis so eventually you're doing that big circle at angles and then full loops upside down. I'm really happy they weren't huge for that, cause I felt my breasts being sucked outward by the force. Lol... It was WEIRD. I'm SO HAPPY It didn't hurt -_-"
