Gay men have a curious relationship to dance music. A whole
subculture is built around our nightclubs, but to some "gay music" is
boring and repetitive. Hercules and Love Affair, the New York
City-based disco revival band opening for Gnarls Barkley at the 9:30
club on Aug. 5, is taking pains to see that "interesting gay music" is
no longer an oxymoron.
