Dude, I frigging hate them. When I was little I had really long hair, and this gigantic black beetle got in it somehow and I only realized it was there when I heard it chirping in my ear. Waaaayyy traumatizing. I haven't had long hair since.

Cockroaches are the worst kind. :s

Bugs don't bother me. Well, centipedes really suck, but I can kill them.

I'm not too worried about bugs. I never met a cockroach though, but I don't think I would be bothered too much by that one either.
I usually catch the buggers with a glass and a piece of carton and let them free outside. Catching them with my bare hands is something I do rather avoid.
And if a critter is already injured, my cats may play with it...

A catch and release program for cockroachs?  I though that was only for fish.

Bugs are gross.

A lizard doesn't count as a bug, but I found one in my room the other day (ARGH time to clean) and it made me sick to my stomach.

Bugs are everywhere in florida though, so I try not to pay attention to them. Finding roaches in  your pool is SO fun, especially when you're already swimming and they're 2 inches from your head.

:o OMG!! EWWWWWWWWWW!!! If that happened to me I would absolutely freak out!! (not that I go swimming or anything anymore but...yuck.) Cockroaches and household pests in general just gross me out.

I always kinda liked bugs as a kid.  They were fun to play with, I'd make Lego obstacle courses for them.  ::)

I don't even mind spiders, except... when there are enough of them in my small apartment to qualify for a full-blown infestation.  These guys weren't terribly small, either (about 1-2" long).  They kept spinning webs along the ceiling in the apartment--and especially my room--where they'd drop down onto my head or my bed (which was lofted close to the ceiling).  And spiders make sucky bedfellows, lemme tell ya...  They're not fun to find while you're taking a shower, either (think Arachnophobia, if anyone's seen it).  Glad when I moved outta that place.

I don't mind spiders so much, but I'll get my mom to kill a black widow if I come across it. (We have them in our garage and she likes to leave them because they eat bugs or whatever.) My cats (I have seven) don't go for spiders, but they love to hunt the crickets that get in the house. My special cat, Atticus, has a reputation for being a fly hunter. He's damn good at it, too.

Oh the cockroach stories I could tell you from when I lived in St. Louis!

One of the places I taught at has a world famous entomology department that has a cooking contest every year, and one year, in revenge for a bad grade I'm guessing, I was picked to judge.  Stir-fried crickets, grasshoppers, ants, the entire spectrum.

Some of it was even good.

Hmm... having a cockroach near your head in pool is not as bad as having them wash into your swimsuit lol.

And I know when was younger liked to play with them, or burn them (nice popping sound) held a few praying mantes and a secata (sp) once.  Never could stand Centipedes, millipedes, and maggots though.  For some reason am more squimish now than used to be :( dono why.
Every day we pass people, do we see them or the mask they wear?
If you live under a mask long enough, does it eventually break or wear down?  Does it become part you?  Maybe alone, they are truly themselves?  Or maybe they have forgotten or buried themselves so long, they forget they are not a mask?

maggots are very good to cook with, adds texture and insects are almost pure protein - not sure how that works in a vegan diet however.
