It does not take much to make me happy...

I have been noticing that people are abstaining from using gender identifying words in reference to me, which is nice in and of itself.

The setting:

A new buffet opened in town a while back and we finally go around to visiting, I.e. the folks probably haven't memorized us yet *wink*

I was wearing basically what I normally wear, jeans, sweatshirt (pink ;) ), necklace and my earrings. Oh, and long burgundy hair :D .

We were chatting away when our server had returned to refill our drinks, one coffee, two hot teas and "Would you like more ice tea Ma'am?" ...  I just GLOWED the rest of the meal and the way home, lol.

Be careful what you wish for, you may get it ;)

Kimberly,
I have been post op for two years now and have been full time for all most 4 years now and when someone says would you two ladies like something or what would you like ma'am, it still makes me feel really good inside. I sometimes miss the comments as I'm getting pretty use to it, but when I do hear them it is wonderful. So let the little things in life make you feel better and don't let anything else get you down.

You go, Girl!  I know hat you mean.  (Now, if I can just get to the point they don't 'correct' themselves after they ma'am me <sigh>)

P.S., take that back,   I was ma'am'ed last night at the SGA Night Out.  It was at a rib shack in the HEART of Sacramento's GLBT district, so they do know their manners...

It is so great when that happens - I think because it is an affirmation of one's true self. :)
