Hi everyone
I am getting ready to start HRT very soon and am looking for TS friendly doctors in the central part of North Carolina. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. I can find very little info about this online anywhere so even any suggestions to link sites would help. The only ones I find on the local link pages are in the mountains over 3 hours from me. Please feel free to PM me if you don't want to post it in the forum.
Thanks
Katie

If by Central NC you mean Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, the Duke Center for LGBT life page has some stuff that might help you. http://lgbt.studentaffairs.duke.edu

On this page http://lgbt.studentaffairs.duke.edu/audiencenav/new_to_durham.html there is a list of resources and there is a PDF under the doctors category that has physicians and counselors and a few other things.  I haven't used this list myself, but I hope this helps you.

Btw I'm in the Raleigh/Durham area too. ^^

Thanks Nixish and those that have PMed me. Its nice to see other NC girls here.I am about the same distance, just over a hour, from Raleigh Charlotte and Greensboro. In the middle of no where really. LOL This means a lot of driving to reach any LGBT services. Since I do a lot of business in Charlotte I have be going there for most of my transition related stuff but am hoping to find a doctor that's a bit closer to home since gas has gotten so expensive. I have found a few doctors that are closer that I am going to call today but really don't want to see anyone that does not have experience treating TS folks.

*hugs*

Hmmm, that does sound like the middle of nowhere.  :-\   If some of the doctors you call don't have experience treating TS folks it doesn't hurt to ask if they know of any that do.  You could even ask some of the people you see in Charlotte if they know anyone near you if you haven't already.  Good luck, and I hope you are able to find someone closer to you.   :)
