As you all know, I'm having a rough time making the college transition.

I was on my school's website today and ran across a program called "Roadrunner Days." It's basically about 4 days of fun-filled campus activity just before classes start.  I began looking at the "Schedule of Events."  I wasn't very interested, but then something caught my eye.  On August 26th, at 1:00 PM, there will be a gathering for the GLBT student community!  It said "Click here to register." So, I'm all registered.  I just hope many people attend.

Also, there is a group called the "Lambda Alliance" that exists on campus.  I e-mailed them telling them my story and asking how to join. Hopefully, they write back soon. They host a gay pride week in October :)

This is just what I needed.  Not only an event that would allow me to meet people, but one with people who will automatically accept me. I feel like my prayers have been answered.  I'm a bit nervous though.  Do ya'll think going to this meeting will help?  What can I expect?  Am I supposed to introduce myself as a gay FTM or a gay male? I think I would feel comfortable as "gay FTM" because I'm sure many FTMs will be there.

Let's hope this is as wonderful as I think it will be  :)

Cool.

I'd say the question of how to introduce yourself rides on whether you want to be stealth or not.
Glad to hear you're feeling better about all this.  :)

I'm starting my second semester of college tomorrow. I came out to my English instructor and I requested that she refer to me as "Dan." I haven't gotten a reply yet (I emailed her) but my dad is fairly certain that the instructors at this school will respect my gender identity. A recent statistic I've heard (given by the medical professionals in my area) estimate that there is around 1,000 transgendered people in Sonoma County.

There is a LGBT group on my campus. I am not sure if I will come out or go stealth. I will probably come out... then I can freely attend this group. As for a lot of FtMs being there, don't depend on that. I live in a highly populated trans area and our trans meeting had under a dozen people. Mostly FtM, but I think all of them were straight (except me). They had girlfriends.

When I introduced myself to Positive Images, I was completely honest. An FtM who's questioning his sexuality.
