Interesting experience today, and painful to. (Funny how those two keep going together with me.)

I was riding my scooter when I tried to make a turn heading home. Next thing I know is that i'm on the ground groaning in a puddle. Insult to injury was that the puddle was full of grass clippings, and me with a new outfit. I was banged up, but both me and the scooter were able to walk away from the incident.

Funny thing is, i've been injured before, but people seemed to freak out about it a bit more then usual. I had three women who responded who kept asking if I was ok, and even offered to call an ambulance after it was obvious I was standing and in one piece. Then after I got home my roommate freaked after she saw the blood, and even after I washed up was still freaking. Being a former medic I know what bad looks like, I just have a lot of scraped skin. Stings like no other, but not even close to being serious. It doesn't even look serious, i've seen worse on kids learning to ride a bike.

Finally I went into work and had guys offering to get me stuff for my scrapes. I had already used hydrogen peroxide and neosporin, but didn't have any bandages. The guys fixed that rather quick. It was nice but a little unnerving as i'm not used to having people fuss over me like everyone has today.

So i'm trying to figure it out, do people really fuss over each other this much? Because nobady fussed this much when I was growing up or was living as a guy. Or is it because i'm living as a woman now?

since guys made a big fuss over getting you bandages, i'm going to say that it's the woman thing, and if i were you i'd enjoy every minute of it you can...lol.

Its weird, I understand now why some women didn't like it when I worried about when they hurt themselves before. I mean I winced when I got the alcohol on my cuts, but that's about as much pain as I showed. It wasn't me being macho, it just didn't hurt that bad.

*shrugs* Well even if they guys who know about me are fussing, then its all good I guess.

Use it to your advantage.  People have a tendance to fuss over women when they are hurt.  A guy with the same injuries would not get that kind of attention.

By the way are you OK,Hon?

Your being taken care of, Enjoy it

I have been experiencing some of the same thing. My male friends are always protecting me. Some days it can get irritating when your trying to get something done and there in your way.

Now that I think about it, the guys I work with are beginning to treat me like a woman.  They are always asking me if I am alright.  We move heavy items, washers, refers, etc.  I always say I am fine and lets get this job over with.  But it is nice to be treat with such protection and caring.

Yeah i'm ok, everything stings and aches but that is expected. I think only my head isn't scratched up, and that was because of the helmet. I'm just glad that I was only going 10mph and didn't break anything.Teach me to wear a skirt, t-shirt, and sandles on a scooter. ;)
