Scalp hair growth

I've been looking into a lot of methods to make hair grow faster.

Daily exercise.

Clean diet.

Vitamins.

Drink lots of water(not soda or alcohol)

Protecting the hair and keeping it moist.

Massaging the scalp with oils and brushing into it with a wide toothed comb.

I was just wondering if anyone else had any suggestions or success stories.

I'm currently taking Flintstones vitamins twice a day and a special vitamin for hair grown once a day.
I ALWAYS use Infusium 23 before I go out, after a shower, on anything.  Tonight I thought about taking one of the hair growth pills and putting it into my day long treatment spray to help protect it and nourish it and I did that, so idk how that will work.  And I always condition, every day.  I ride a motorcycle so I make sure I wear a hat or helmet to protect my hair.  I dye my hair once a month too, so that probably does some damage as well>.<
But it's growing about half an inch a month.  I had it shaved in June and I can almost pull it down to my eyebrow.

Success stories?  Tips?  Any information on products that work?

1/2 inch per month is about normal hair-growth. I've never heard of any particular treatment that improves that.

i think mine could be faster if i cleaned up my diet and took a lot more vitamins and stuff.  idk though.  another experiment i guess:-)

the goal by december is to have hair that I can pull down to my chin.  i'll get microbraids and look like a wigger then but... it'll be worth it:-)

The average is 1/2 inch a month, though some freak of nature have 1 inch a month (very rare).

What makes the most difference in your hair getting long is not how fast they grow, but
how fast they break down or detach from the cranium.

When hair is weakened by DHT, its cycle becomes shorter and it falls out before reaching
full length. many men cannot grow long hair with a decent thickness since the longer it
is the less hair of that length exist (since its fallen out)

Another problem is hair as it get damaged by the environment either snaps off
of splits. Many people who have trouble growing long hair have this problem.
Of course, the original hair has to be in good shape. But, unless you've got
a metabolic disease, just eating enough proteins is usually enough.

For the long hair crowd, pampering the hair by insuring the environment
won't damage them is kind of a religion. Heat styling of any kind and
chemicals like dyes are the biggest damagers of hair. Do it as little
as possible. Back brushing (teasing), and excessive pulling, brushing
and washing is not good (but nowhere as bad as heat and chemicals.
Some styling products are also not that great for long term ideal
hair health (though that depends on the hair).

Insuring constant hydration with deep moisterisers once a week is
crucial. Closing the cuticles with cold water and air dryer (on low setting,
cold) will insure the inside of the hair cannot be attacked by environmental
pollution (it will also make it look a lot shinier). Many styling produc

Bigger hair will resist to more abuse obviously than finer hair. So,
asian hair will remain shiny and healthy even when long when
a redhead may get frizzed out and damaged before it gets
even half as long.

Well it is funny, I have been on HRT for almost a year steady now. I'm on Estrogen, a t-blocker, and a shot once a month that is equivalent to a castration (basically a chemical castration). With all that my hair has definitely been growing but it is a little finer in some areas on top.  The main problem I have with my hair is that it is CONSTANTLY shedding.  I know hair quite well, because that is the field I work in, and I am aware of the cycles of hair growth, but it has been shedding at this rate for several months now.

My hair is curly and thick in most places, but a little finer & thinner in some of the top areas. My hairline started receeding a little before I started HRT @ 22 years old, but no one really notices but myself. I wash my hair about every 2 or 3 days. On the first day after washing I may shed a hair or two but by the 2nd or 3rd day I can run my hands thru it and just have 15/20 hairs in my hand. I notice after my sister or mother get out of the shower they leave behind a little clump of hair and they have perfectly healthy, full hair. Their hair is also MUCH longer than mine so that could be the case. I guess because I was born a male I'm so caught up & concerned about male pattern baldness.  I can't be TOO worried because it is growing and people passing me on the street would never guess my hair wasn't full, but like I said I am in the hair field & I style it particular ways.  It just gets VERY annoying to constantly have shedding hair.

Has anyone else experienced this at almost 11 - 12 months on HRT??? Any remedies? Suggestions? Things to look for or take note of?

Avodart might be the solution to your problem.and maybe progesterone
then there is biotin and folic acid
and low carbs diet
that is my personal regime for my battle with hair loss
learn not to be afraid of shedding though.

Oh I am not afraid of hair shedding, as I know that it's completely natural. Like I said many of the females in my family tend to shed alot but have healthy, full, hair.

The T-Blocker I take is Avodart, along with Estrogen injections every 2 weeks, and a Lupron injection once a month that is basically like a chemical castration. I go in a few weeks for my yearly check-up so I will get my blood work done again to check my E & T levels. Last time they were near perfect, and that was only 1 month into HRT. I am going to ask my doctor when I go about starting on progesterone, as I heard it can be helpful.

I also take 2500mcg of Biotin a day, as well as a multivitamin & try to eat healthy & drink all water.

Like I said, flintstones vitamins work.

But seriously, to EVERYONE trying to grow their hair, USE LEAVE IN TREATMENTS.  Like Infusium 23.  It protects your hair cuz once it's out of your scalp it's DEAD, so you gotta take care of it.  I actually blended up one of my vitamin pills into my leave in treatment and it works SOO much better now, idk why, but i guess it does.

Oh ok so the little Flintstones vitamins help with hair growth?!?! I take "One-A-Day Weight Smarts" which is just a general daily vitamin with green tree extract to help speed up your metabolism a bit.

But if you have proof or feel the Flintstones vitamins work better, please by all means pass them my way! :P

While I love green tea I might stop drinking it or greatly cut back on it as I have read it can increase testosterone and decrease estrogen, so be careful with how much you take or drink.

The effects of green tea aren't nearly as potent as advertised.

As far as flintstones vitamins, that's all you need.

The human body can only digest so much, and all these modern vitamins keep packing higher and higher doses of stuff into those horse pills that your body takes like maybe 1/3 of and gets rid of the rest.

Which effects the metabolism one or the hormones ones as I drink about six mugs a day as I don't like milk, if it the hormones one I will continue to drink it.

I don't think we can get the flintstones vitamins over here so I take Centrum and I also take MSM and Biotin for my hair and they do fine I guess.

Well, hair growth is mainly determined by genetics, but you definately CAN do things to make it grow faster.

Trimming your hair on a full moon?  ;D Lol, I hear it works, even though it doesn't make any sense.

I have never heard that green tea can increase testosterone & decrease estrogen levels? What is the science behind this....anyone care to tackle this?
