So I had an orchiectomy performed in mid August.  I have always had a problem with hair loss and recently it's been progressing very rapidly.  I understand that testosterone levels will taper off, however I also read that 25% to 40% of tissue level DHT will remain in my body.  That being said will my hair loss continue if I am not on a DHT blocker?  Even still would the DHT blocker help with the DHT that has already bound to the hair follicle?

Basically what can I do to arrest my hair loss or is there a possibility it will continue regardless?

Did you get an assessment by a hair specialist?
Shedding doesn't mean you've got less hair, only a precise photo can tell you.

DHT attacks the hair folicle over time, has nothing to do with tissue DHT.
Each time, the hair folicle gets smaller, sheds faster (so hair cannot grow long),
until its just vellus hair.

What is long term, is the efficiency of the enzymes that convert T -> DHT,
those if affected by dutasteride are effectively suppressed for quite a while
even after you stop. Finesteride has also a suppressing effect, but not as long.

If you're highly susceptible to DHT, you need to continue a DHT suppressor
FOREVER. The Surrenals produce some T derivative that can turn into DHT
and bind and damage the folicle (that's how some women lose their hair
in a male pattern baldness pattern).

I was on Dutastride for over a year and if anything it made my hairline far worse.  I guess I will just detransition then  :embarrassed:
