I'm planing on coming out to them tomorrow night (Tuesday night) and my heart is racing, I'm mentally crying( almost crying in the physical sense, correct am crying) and very nervous. To make it worse, a song that always gets me teared is playing. ( Darryl Worley- Have You Forgotten) :icon_cry:

Hoping they accept me in time for the Support Group Potluck on Friday. I believe my dad will at lest be non-judgmental about it. My mom on the other hand, I just don't know. As for the rest of my family and friends, will be on a later date. Pray (if believe in) for me that my parents will accept me.

Well... I'll try to get some sleep for the morning shift at work tomorrow. Good-night.

Amrisa.

Good luck, but do not expect that they will suddenly accept and understand your coming out. They would have a lot of questions, but you may not need to answer all of them. Time and patience.

Just do it.

Well I did it. I came out to them. They both said that although they don't understand it, they'll accept any choice I make about this. They even said they were proud of me that I still came to them to talk to them.

This makes me feel a lot better. So I guess I got all nervous over nothing.

Probably they saw the signs by the time you were 3 years old. They have spent years wondering when you would finally just be yourself. About "understanding", there are plenty of scientists, medical doctors and psychologists whom don't really understand. Not everybody has the brainpower to understand, and even PhDs often need an educational upgrade before they can understand.

Acceptance is more important than understanding: both, by you accepting yourself, and you being accepted by others. Understanding can come later, or never, and it's still OK.

They said they were surprised that I said that I want to be female. They told me they always thought I would be a "Daisy Girl."
