'XXY' A Unique Coming Of Age Story

Sometimes, knowing too much about a movie before you see it can ruin
the whole thing. Revealing a narrative twist dampens the drama, as
does describing anything that happens after the 20-minute mark.

It's a credit to Lucia Puenzo's skill as a writer and director that
"XXY" retains its dramatic tension even if the viewer is aware from
the get-go about where the plot will lead. This is good, because it's
impossible to summarize "XXY" without spilling the beans. The title
itself is a tip-off.
