Here's a site that let's you put a block of text into a field and it'll guess whether the person who wrote the passage is male or female. It's based on this:

Similarly, what the gender-identifying algorithm picks up on is that women are apparently far more likely than men to use personal pronouns -- ''I,'' ''you'' and ''she'' especially. Men, on the other hand, prefer so-called determiners -- ''a,'' ''the,'' ''that,'' ''these'' -- along with numbers and quantifiers like ''more'' and ''some.'' What this suggests, according to Moshe Koppel, an author of the Israeli project, is that women are more comfortable talking or thinking about people and relationships, while men prefer to contemplate things.

It claims to be correct 80% of the time.

I had to try this. I entered my most recent blog post.

Can't help that I was raised with a female-like diction. Although, it is strange that it thinks boys don't talk about themselves. I'm sure that they have said many things about girls and all that.

Now that I'm aware of this, I might consider testing out seeing how well I can use "male" diction. It's something I'm very curious about, now.

I did observe something; the female words seem to make girls sound negative an uncertain and the male words seem to make guys seem secure and rational. It screams a tad sexist in my opinion.

TEST:
One Two Three Four Five Six Seven Eight Nine Ten Single Double Triple Quadruple Quintuple Couple Few Some Many A Lot More Less Near Far Close Deep Shallow High Low Behind Under Above Across Below Who What When Where Why How The They It Their This That These Those Etc

And the results for the test are:
Words: 50

Female Score: 35
Male Score: 133

I know how it works now.  :icon_twisted:

I tested it on a long personal email I sent to someone:

Words: 1104, Female Score: 1712, Male Score: 1213. The Gender Genie thinks the author of this passage is: female!

With other results I got a random score around the 50/50 plus or minus 10% for male/female, but then again I do think I'm confused .. :) I tested this on an online 'girlfren' of mine and got this results:

Words: 1175, Female Score: 1371, Male Score: 1627. The Gender Genie thinks the author of this passage is: male!
