I'm trying to plan out all the parts of my transition. I want it to all go as smoothly as possible. I spent 9500 on having my nose and lip done and some people have said that was to much. What are some average costs I can use as a guide for breast augmentation and GRS so that I can have an idea of what funds to spend where.

For the US GRS runs from $16k for McGinn to $18.5k for Bowers and somewhere about $22 K for Meltzer.  In canada its about $18k.  For BA figure about $6500 for silicon gel and about $1k less for saline,  But you'll want gel as they feel and look natural.

Thailand runs anywhere from $6k to 13K for GRS and 3-4k for BA.

Thanks Beni, I can't wait til I get all this done. Every day that goes by feels better and more natural. I just want all the info I can get.

Dr. Bowers was my surgeon.  these are her fees for 2008.  they go up about 1k every year.

Dr. McGinn's Vaginoplasty is $16,500 now.  Her new website is online as well, the prices on it should be a good guide.  FFS is hard to calculate without a consultation.

Thanks for all the imput.  Since I got my life together I have only been on HRT for 7 months. I have changed so much I'm not sure what I want to have done as for as FFS goes. I may wait a while to see what the hormones do.The Dr. that did my nose and lip doesn't think I need alot done to my face. I never get picked as a guy if I dress as a female. Which I do most of the time. Maybe it helps being able to change my voice when I want . Not sure. It would be great if I don't have to spend tons of cash on FFS so I can spend the bulk of it on breasts and SRS. So many choices. I just get so confused at times. I'm so judgmental of myself that I may be just to picky. So please, any opinions as to what I may need are welcome. Sometimes we all need help from others. Thanks to you all for your help and imput.

Goodness, girl, your face is lovely, you don't need FFS. I didn't either, I just had a couple of minor things done.

Depends on where you live but that sounds about right.

Dr Brassard is $17,000 but that includes anesthesia, two weeks at the residence, all of the hospital costs, meals, dilators etc.

Dr. Meltzer's fees for this year are:

Vaginoplasty - $21,650.00  If you need skin grafts, you will be required to pay an additional $500.00.

Labiaplasty - $5,250.00

Vaginoplasty with breast augmentation - (saline only) $27,200.00 (combined with silicone) $28,400.00

Vaginoplasy with tracheal shave - $24,500.00

And yes, his fees tend to increase about $2,000.00 every year for vaginoplasty alone.

Add to that:

Vaginal Deepening: approx $17,000

The fee is basically for consult visits, a minimum 4-1/2 hours surgery and a two night stay upstairs in the Greenbaum Surgery center.

He'll throw in a free labiaplasty if there's still time left after performing the deepening.

He told me cases like mine (previous surgeon unable/unwilling to proceed due to difficult anatomy,) typically take only 2-1/2 hours.  So there's enough time to tidy things up a bit and make them look nice(r).

I've kinda been thinking of either Bowers or Brassard.. But I'm just not sure as to who I'll use. I mean, after all it a very serious decision to make. It seems like they all have some bad stories being said about them and they all have some great comments being made also. But the one thing for certain is I dont want to go overseas.

If you can afford Bowers or Brassard, there is no reason to head elsewhere at all. If I had the cash I would have gone to Brassard. Instead I went to Thailand and while I have what I will term satisfactory results at this time, what I went through was not worth the savings in money.

Tisha,
I agree with several here that your features are very fem. as they are.
I am a true male and I dated a ts for two years.
Her features were very similar to yours, and no one ever realized she had both sexes, not even me at first.
Please be very careful about where you go, if you decide to do this. I am glad to see the effort you are putting up to get answers, but want to let you know there are guys like me out there that will care for you no matter what.
I never realized what pleasure all the parts could give till I fell in love with her.
As you mentioned earlier, one bad procedure could stay with you forever.

And by the way, I am not trying to talk you out of this, just natural concern.
It is your body, and your choice.....Good luck on your decision.

what does "being pretty" have to do with wanting to have a body that matches your gender identification?

I think they were speaking of her desire for FFS.

Hi Natasha I was only drawing from what information and  the one visual I have to work with. She is good looking already at 7 months on HRT, why not wait to see what further developments Tisha may have for the next five months which will be a full year since she began HRT. and may not require any FFS or any other type of surgery to improve how she looks. As many of the younger girls here discovered that waiting one full years was worth it.

Tisha, your tiny avatar may look good (good enough that you don't need FFS ? ... only you know that) ... and at your age I'd wait at least 3 years of HRT before considering FFS or BA.

Surgeon wise if you're going local it has to be Meltzer or Brassard ($26k & $19k for SRS) ... please don't make a second best choice just to save a few $s ...

All the GRS surgeons have an oop's now and then.  I went to McGinn, because for me it felt right. Dr. McGinn, is unlike the other surgeons is a trained plastic surgeon and a general surgeon.  While she's fairly new in the market in GRS, Dr. Bowers personally told me Dr. McGinn was an artist.  And that was 2 days after my GRS in the hospital..  Also like Dr. Bowers, Dr. McGinn is or rather was TS MtF.  I had no visible scars 2 weeks after surgery but that's in part because of how she does her magic.  YMMV, but for me I'm a very satisfied client.  Oh I had BA  also with Dr. McGinn and that turned out nice too.

Just my two cents which is all it's really worth.  You have to decide who feels best like the best surgeon to go to.  It's pertty personal and yes you want it done right the first time.  You really can't go too wrong with any of the major surgeons in the US or Canada though.  They  are all good at what they do.
