Hi

I've just registered and am posting for the first time.  It's nice to have a community where you can share experiences.  I've thought/fantasised about being a cross dresser for many years but haven't really explored it.  That is, I've done a few things now and then when it's "safe".  I browsed a book yesterday at Border in Sydney which contained a series of essays about individuals in a transgender-type context including cross dressing.  One of the stories sort of set me free and I immediately went off to buy some nice underwear and am looking to broaden my network and my wardrobe!!  Having said that I would find it extremely difficult (impossible?) to broach this subject with my family.  My wife is extremely conservative and would find this very hard to deal with.  Unfortunately I suspect this will be a hidden part of my life which I will only indulge when the opportunity presents itself.

For me there is both an element of feminine identity and also a sexual element.  At a personal level I am quite sure that I am very feminine.  I've formed this conclusion from my interests, my friends. (mostly women) and what attracts me intellectually, culturally, visually.  There are a lot of reasons behind my attraction to women's clothing - the endless variety in style, fabric and colour, the form and cut which can look so elegant, the imagination behind them and the softness.  I don't want to ramble too much (particularly as one could talk about these topics for hours).

If anyone's is interested in exploring any of these topics separately perhaps you could start a new topic.

Thanks to Susan for this fantastic forum.

Welcome to Susan's Giselle!

You have come to the right place.  Lots of friendly people here and we all help each other.  When you have anything on your mind feel free to ask.  Be sure to check out the Library and the WIKI too.  Lots of good information there.  When I started dressing as a female, at first it started out as a sexual thing, but as I have gotten older I find its much more of a sensual thing than sexual.  I dress as a female everyday now in my free time and pretty much live and sleep as a woman.  I love the way the clothes fit my body.  I agree, there are more styles, colors and fabrics to choose from over men's clothes.  For me, it feels more natural wearing young womens clothes than wearing mens clothes.  If you have any questions feel free to ask.  I will be looking forward to reading more from you in the future.

Hugs,

Hi Shannon

Thanks for your post and those references.  I'll definitely have a look.  I suspect that it's been discussed before but seeing as I'm new I'd be interested in getting a discussion going on what it is about women's clothing that gives us that je ne sais quoi.  I'll have start a thread!!!  How exciting!!!
