Ladyfest Ottawa brings activism to ordinary people

Despite calls for tolerance and acceptance, activists can seem like an
exclusive bunch. Anjali Helferty wants to take down that the
perception. She is the national co-ordinator for the Sierra Youth
Coalition and says, "anyone can be an activist," if they want to
affect change -- there is no uniform or secret code.

Helferty, who was profiled in Vanity Fair's 2007 green issue, hosts an
Activist 101 course as part of the three-day Ladyfest, which starts
Friday.
