I AM WRITING for two purposes: to defend the creation of women-only
gym time, and to advocate for the creation of a similar men-only time
slot.

I must begin by emphasizing that gender is a complex matter that
cannot be reduced to a simple question of anatomy or chromosomes. The
gym time is designed to meet the needs of women and woman-identified
students. Many transgendered students will particularly benefit from
this project.
