Margaret Ann

Seattle's classical FM station. Some Mozart happening right now. (9:41 AM Tuesday) I'm a bluegrass musician but I really love that symphonic sound sometimes.

Thanks for the Mozart link. It was really nice. I like his hair.

I am having trouble navigating here. I have only posted 7 or so forum messages but there seems to be no easy way to go to them later when I log in and see what - if anything - people are saying in response. I know I can see what people have directly replied to but sometimes I need a reminder of what I said. Also, if I view the response to my post there seems to be no way to easily go to the post it is listed as a response to. Is there a "threaded" mode where I can view an extended conversation without viewing the extraneous posts inserted in the thread - or are all posts in any thread displayed in order of the time posted.

Also, you sent me a PM in addition to the forum post above with the link. That was very kind but I am not able to send private messages in return for some reason. Will this restriction be lifted at some future time? I feel remiss not responding to any PM.

I'm sure I'll get the hang of this after a while but right now I feel pretty lost.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi Margi

I also play bluegrass and other American acoustic roots styles; old time, blues, etc. Mozart is cool too.  ;D

Wow, that's cool! Lately I've been listening to some jazz as well. The squeeky/honky sax stuff has always turned me off but I am finding some very good guitar and piano based jazz lately. There's a huge world of that it seems. I think maybe it's because I've been learning some swing chords on my guitar and I'm starting to see where these different genres connect.

It's so nice to know that you do bluegrass. Could I ask what instruments? I do guitar (2 years), banjo (20 years clawhammer), and I'm just learning to do some stuff on the bass.  I'll never be an expert musician but I sure do have fun.  8)

Cheers

I'm a full time musician, have played guitar for about 40 years, also mandolin, fiddle, clawhammer banjo, fretted dulcimer... It's nice to meet another acoustic music person here!

Hi.
This is a neat topic.  I'm listening to Cher's believe album.  I was planning to listen to a techno remix of "I'm a Barbie Girl" next.
