Hey there guys!  ;D I'm feeling really good today cos today is the day i have officially decided..............

*drum roll*

I am SICK of waiting on the NHS!

I have a job now, a full time job. Ok, so it's a low paying wage, but at least i'm getting a wage! I'm going private. I HAVE to go private. I cant take much more of this waiting... I NEED T!!!!!!!!!!!  :eusa_wall:

So, my search now begins for gender therapists in Yorkshire and if anyone knows anyone, let me know! At the moment i'm looking at Dr Wylle (is that how you spell it?) in Sheffield. I know he charges £150 per session... or at least he did last time i looked.

LOL  ;D  I was wondering who JonJon was!  ;) Sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands if you want to transition before you are ninety! Good for you, Wishy and congratulations!

Eye contacts?

Or business contacts?

I'm going to be a total jerk and talk about me now. I want contacts myself so I can act on stage without glasses. Need to get my eyes measured.

I wondered who JonJon was too!

Wishy have you contacted the center where you where meant to go??? I still cant believe you are STILL waiting!!!! Can you not chase them??

I see Dr Curtis in London and he is FTM and he is VERY good Prescribes T and actually has it in his clinic. I got T after 1 appointment with him! He is expensive too. But its all worth it. I know your looking at Sheffield area but I was thinking if you booked the train tickets in advance they are VERY cheap!

I've been looking at Dr Curtis... but then thought i can only JUST afford private and travel expenses would amount up too much.

I have emailed Dr Kevan Wylie and am waiting a response. I think he's there on tuesdays so i might get my reply tomorrow.

I have gone off into dream mode now about my first appointment. I'm like... WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE *spins* Maybe now i can lay off the ->-bleeped-<-s!

Wishy what train station would you be going from? I can have a look for you dude? I only see Dr Curtis every three months so it wouldn't really be that much I wouldn't have thought...

It would be Sheffield train station. Is there a train station very close to his hospital?

On another note as well, i did check out his site and appears i can only pay by credit/debit card or cheque. I dont use banks these days as i've grown to hate them and they seem to take all my money away, so i can only pay in front up cash.

If you email him he can be very flexable and probably wouldn't have a problem with it. You can call his office and talk to him. He is very approacable.. I have looked for train ticket and you can get a saver return from Sheffield to london for £58.00 if you book in advance. And for the bus from Sheffield to london it is £19.60 return. Its cheaper but takes a hell of a lot longer. The train takes 2 1/2 hours and the bus takes 5 hours something.. must go to Wales before hand!

Could you tell me the train station nearest to the clinic? The one i've found is Cannon Street, i dont know if there are any that are closer. I would have to catch a taxi from the station to the clinic.

Man, i wish i had the money on my right now this second  :( It all looks very expensive and i dont know how long it will take me to save up for just the first appointment, but by the looks of things, it seems possible i'll at least be getting hormones from the 1st appointment since i have my deed poll papers dating back to Feb 07 when i changed my name, plus a few diaries that i've 'tried' to keep up to date. How much will i need for the hormones? Just so i know how much i'll need to have on me.

Btw, i have emailed him and if i dont get a reply i will try and call him next monday.

I dont know which train station you would get into however if its Liverpool street or Kings Cross then you will have to get the underground and the ticket for that will cost £5.50 approx for travel to zones 1 to 2. Say if you get into kings cross you will have to get the tube on the victoria line to the central line to Bond street and its basically a 5 minute walk to be honest! Its quick too. I wouldn't get a taxi as it would cost you a small fortune the tube is the best way to go.

You wont be able to get hormones on the first visit you will have to have a consent form saying you agree to everything and understand what can happen blah blah blah for four weeks.. before hand. Its just so they can cover their own backs. Then you shall be able to have them.

I will email you the prices!

Thats understandable i guess.

I think i'd have to take a friend with me when i go cos my sense of direction is ->-bleeped-<-. And i dont fancy getting lost on my own - thats just no fun at all.

I have decided to try and get an appointment with Dr Kevan Wylie. It's just that it's closer and i'm not exactly a patient person.

I can get an appointment for 7th October... though i cant really save up £270 in 2 weeks. If i phone after that date i can get booked in for some time in November... Which isn't THAT far away anyways! ^___^ So i'm aiming for that.

Now i feel like partying cos i now feel i'm getting SOMEWHERE!!!!!!   :icon_bumdance-nerd: :icon_dance: :icon_drunk: :icon_geekdance: :icon_joy: :icon_pelvic_thrust: :icon_pelvic_thrust2: :icon_walk: and just for entertainment purposes, i'll poke someone with a stick! :icon_poke:

that was just a quote from his secretary who didn't know what she was talking about lol

I finally found out how to figure Dr Wylie's site out and found it's £225 for the first consultation providing i have a referal letter from my GP.

I cant wait now. I'm just wondering if i have to personally see my GP for that letter.... or can i just call her up and ask for it?
